ya, there isnt much in the way of gajiilion new people at my gym either ;/

There is ALWAYS room for improvement…thats why we lift…to get stronger and progress each time we do so…hang in there!!

i’m in need of limes. i’m feeling a bit of bug trying (i said trying!) to get me. which is BS since i just had that cold first week in nov. rested last night, figured a little squat action would help kill the germies.


figurin’ my squat 1 RM to be 135 (with good form, of course)so numbers are a little funky, so i rounded up rather than down for the measly few lbs i’m dealing with.

warmup with some single DLs, sumo squats, bulgarians, all with 15 DB. 2x12 @85 for both leg extension & curl
2 sets RDL w 70 BB

day 4 5/3/1 Squat:
bar x 10/ 65 x10

85 x5
95 x5
105 x5+10 all of these sets legal depth :slight_smile:

10 rack deads @ 95 since that was easy to drop down with out unloading and re-loading.
10 OH squats with bar
10 ATG squats w bar and OHpress
20 “push-downs” @ 70 for each leg
real quick single Dl and bulgarians to stretch…gym closed on me. must foam roll now cause right hip was jacked going in tonight and it’s not any better now.

yeah yeah…i did it cause it was there. there is a stupid bar in the rack so it can’t go directly to the floor. have to unload, take it out then load back up. nice hook kicking Bobbi…that is sweet. good thing you can back up all that pewp talkin’…haaaaaaa! :stuck_out_tongue:

Squat’s looking good - you’re doing fine so far.

I train in the mornings on weekdays - not too many resolutioners around then. One new guy was around, he seemed friendly and seemed to know mostly what he was doing (I say mostly because he was still wearing bubble heeled trainers).
Today (Saturday), though, was like some sort of hamster derby with everyone sweating away on the cardio machines. Fortunately most are too scared to go into the free weights room.

edit: I did this ONCE with ONE client but he’s 6’1 and lacked the flexibility to do it. But just ONCE and you’re not 6’1!

i’m confused between Bobbi and masch…i better keep this short or someone won’t even read it.

the 95lbs was on the rack (up high) after doing squats. i took the bar as is and set it down on the lowest stupid rack that goes across the bottom, thinking i might load up for some rack deads. too short on time, so i just pulled 10 for shits and giggles. then did the bar squat stuff.

good thing i don’t proclaim to be much more than spicy weak sauce.

yeah cal- hamster derby is right. and yes, they mostly avoid free weights, so that’s good. but the young girls like to work in teams, sitting on the equipment next to the one their friend is using. and dudes seem to think rest periods are great for txt msgn. friday was unusually busy but not too bad. i have yet to go in before 8 pm, so i’m not sure how packed we are.

fighting either a weak cold or serious case of allergies (molds?) itchy head feeling leads me to allergy assumption rather than cold. also family issues gots me down in the mental dept. decided to not be a pussy and go lift today.

some warm up stuff, push-ups, tricep bench dips, rotator cuff work w 10 DBs. shoulder is becoming a nuisance. now there is some grinding and clicking. yeah.

bent-over BB rows
2 sets x 15 w/85 lbs (decent form but talking with monkey butt i dropped the weight to drop my back further, flat! and got full ROM)
2 x 20 w/65 lbs

45 incline press
2 x 20 w/ 25 DBs.
clicking shoulder so i went to Arnold press:
3 x 20 w/ 15 DBs

y-bar push-downs
20 x 50 lbs
3 x 15 60 lbs

tricep bench dips immediately after tri work. 2 x 25 hypers. 2 x 20 hanging leg raises. stared at bunny equipment…meh. did 5 min on cross-trainer before i was annoyed enough to come home.

Yeah, don’t let me confuse you - when I say I rack my DLs, I put the safety bars on the lowest rung and then use 2 platforms to stand on. Its stupidly complicated and clearly entirely unnecessary. Now I’m sad that I’m that guy.

thanks Skye! i guess hamster equipment is closer to the truth. i had bunny in my head cause Bobbi was talking bunny workouts (like mine yesterday)…and i told brute fury i had my bunny’s nutz removed. (years ago-he crossed the rainbow bridge, as Cal calls it…haa)

i saw your video Masch…yowser, hot mamma! if it’s stupidly complicated, can you just pull from the floor? my rack has a permanent bar about 12 inches or so above ground, below my knees. once i left the pre-set BBs behind, i started doing DLs from the rack. now i’m almost grown up, and am pushing for more weight from the floor.

for being weak sauce in a pool of strong biatches, i was still happy i pulled 185.

feeling much better today. tonight is deads…deads and squats on 5 3 1 = fun. MP and bench = not so much.

i haven’t had much time to post gals, but i’m keeping tabs on all y’all.

so, apparently i get myself confused doing simple math (always did, even though i had to get through calculus and physics, yeah, who cares…just sayin’…the simple things elude me sometimes) i said last week i was going to go lighter, cause i messed up calculation but i guess i didn’t…whatev. a little underfed (on purpose, trying to tighten up but too light since i was stuck in lab afternoon couldn’t eat after lunch til i got home which was only handful size of squash)
