Doogie's 2024 Transformation Log

I found when I was into the Atkins Diet, that even in their 20+/- carbs a day stage I could stay in ketosis with a desert or cheat meal. The general approach at the time was a few slices of pizza would ruin your diet and you would have to start over. Well on Sunday, after dinner I would make a peach, or blackberry cobbler. And have a serving, or two. It seemed to do the opposite of ruining ketosis, but kick start it during the next day or two. So go ahead, enjoy that cheat meal.

I like this approach: cyclical ketogenic diet. Unless employed for medical intervention, staying IN ketosis for long periods of time may not be the best for most folks, and being able to cycle in and out of it can have quite a few benefits, from what I’ve seen.

Down 5 lbs since Monday. I know it’s mostly water weight, but it’s still encouraging to see the numbers going down. Haven’t had any real cravings so far this week, so that’s made this first week easier.

Woke up in the middle of the night when some weird stabbing pain on the inside of my right knee. No idea what it is, but slept for shit after that.

Down 5.4 lbs last week. Saturday turned into a cheat day, rather than a cheat meal, but I kept the portions under control.

Weight went up a bit today for the first time. I’m pretty sure it is water weight from the cheat day on Saturday. I looked better in the mirror than I have in a LONG time and my belt had to be tightened up this morning.

Down 7.2lbs in 2 weeks…
Didn’t overdo the cheating completely Saturday. Only gained 1.4 lbs. I am adding in 2 40-calorie/3-carb tortillas during dinner and see if that stops the weight loss. If not, tortillas do good things for my mood.

Down 1.6lbs yesterday. Hopefully that is a sign that the keto tortillas are OK for now.

No workout this morning, but today I hit exactly 25 lbs down since January 1. Still a LOT more to go, but it’s progress.

I’m THIS close to no longer being obese. Weight is coming down on the scale, but going up in the gym. Gotta love that. Feeling good. No cravings.
