I’m finally getting to the point where I don’t worry about day-to-day weight fluctuations. Yesterday I was 193.6. It goes up, it goes down, but it’s trending down. That’s the important thing.

I’m going to vet this morning to say goodbye to my oldest dog, Ash. He’s been a great dog. He was found on the streets after Hurricane Harvey, and has been with us since 2018. He was 10 or 11 when we got him. He’s had heart failure and been on meds for the last year. We’ve been getting fluid drained from his abdomen every six weeks or so. This last time he quit filling up with fluid and has become skin and bones. He’s been eating up until yesterday, but now he won’t eat anything (not even the hotdogs we put his medication in). I hate to say goodbye, but it’s time.
I pity ate a bunch of keto ice cream bars yesterday. Felt like crap. Food isn’t the comfort it once was.
My condolences dude. We don’t deserve dogs. They’re too awesome. It sounds like Ash brought you so much joy in the short time you had him, and I imagine you gave him the best life he could have asked for.
