Doing Dumb Stuff as a College Kid

@BrandonCrawford @T3hPwnisher the shoulder is finished! Pretty good and almost 12 hours of cooking. The bark didn’t set well in that one area because of the silver skin

Yeah you knocked that out of the park. What did you cook it on, pellet smoker or something else?

Oklahoma Joe bronco so it’s a drum smoker with charcoal and lots of wood chunks

Could you do 1 coffee and 2 teas? That would be a place to start if you don’t want to go to the trouble of getting decaf for the half-caff.

Good deal. Work on dropping them completely since you’re so close to zero already!

I’m exactly the same. I’ve trained myself to just drink hot water - it sounds crazy, but damn if it doesn’t work!

Your sleep looks good and hopefully allergy season will end down there soon!

Keep me posted on your progress and withdrawal symptoms if you have any. I used to be a caffeine fiend and I’m down to 1 cup of coffee in the morning M-F and no caffeine on the weekends. If I can do it, there is zero doubt that you can too!

Sorry to hear about your pup man, mine is 13 as well it’s tough to see them age. I like your idea of doing something new with him each week!

I’m still alive! Took this weekend to do birthday stuff and celebrate my way bc I had a test last week (not doing anything kept it very low stress and did stuff I wanted to do). Also a lot of my aches and pains are gone after not doing strongman for a while and having a few days off (hips and shoulders specifically)

Got in like 3 hours of walking everyday (broken up) and lots of cooking done

@QuadQueen I’ve been sticking to 150mg of caffeine (like 1 large coffee). I got some decaf for my hot drink (along with non-caffeinated tea). We will see about any withdrawals!

@AngryMonk Thank you. It is tough and hits me randomly but he still has a lot of life left! He’s been enjoying doing random stuff every week!

You didn’t ask me, but herbal tea is amazing if you want a caffeine-free, flavored, hot beverage. I keep a couple boxes of flavors at work in the winter and it’s amazing after coffee.
I’m on a Celestial Cinnamon Apple Spice binge right now. Perfect for this time of year.

I’ll have to try this one out!

Call me basic but my go to has been Celestial Sleepytime Vanilla so I’m looking to try out different ones lol

Throwing my hat into the caffeine detox ring here, one of my treats is hot water mixed with flavored electrolytes. I get one that is apple flavored, and reminds me of hot apple cider when I drink it. I also permit myself 2 green teas per day, but I actually have to water them down pretty significantly: the full strength stuff hits my guts hard.

Which ones do you use? I have LMNT’s and I’ve tried the chocolate salt in water. In the right ratio it’s like “Oh this is like a yoohoo” but a grain touch has me asking “Who the hell likes salty chocolate water”

If you show this to someone on a carnivore diet, they will transform into a pillar of salt as if they looked back at the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah .

@QuadQueen I think I’m having withdrawal headaches from caffeine. I had like a headache and felt very withdrew from my eyes (if that makes sense) until I got a sugar free monster (at campus and I have an exam today so it was needed). I’m still sticking to the at or under 150mg of caffeine but any tips for the headaches?

Full disclosure, it might not be the caffeine. There’s a shot it’s been small tension headaches but I’m going with caffeine headaches because that’s been the most recent change.

Not the queen, but as someone that was taking in over a gram of caffeine a day at one point…

Caffeine is a vasoconstrictor. Here’s some cool information about that from AI

My thoughts would be, in the absence of one vasoconstrictor: opt for another.

Being a one trick pony here: with “salt” listed as an option, electrolytes might help here.
