Very much agree and plus you jumped into the deep end of ownership with a mal
Between the ears and snout it looks like you have a good looking GSD. We have had our handful of them as pets. Good to see her injury was superficial. I threw a tennis ball for mine in the house once. He ran head first into the leg of our baby grand piano. If gave him a cut above his eye, like a boxer would get. It bled. Traumatic for me. But my wife applied her pediatric nursing skills to the situation and saved the day.
@Friedrich Im always impressed with Shepardās intelligence and stupidity haha
Went to the doctor. They said the hand looks good just to stay on my meds and rest it. I liked the doc and probably will make him my PCP. He did say I can resume normal activities so Iām window shopping for programs now (need to be squat based with SSB)
Woohoo! Glad you are healing up well.
They do exhibit comic tendencies. ![]()
But, in three years I have had two āprowlersā on the property. I am glad I had my workout partner. I just opened the side door and said āGo!ā.
Pretty bad at resting. My new desk came in and built it with no issue regarding my hand. I could also make a fist today!
The being at home and not being able to use my left hand for random stuff is driving me up a damn wall
Are you left handed?
Nope but I do a lot with it just not write
@T3hPwnisher I was thinking. Because itās going to be another week or so before I can lift with my hand and my cruise is in 6 weeks, instead of running some bastardization of the challenge programs, why not do an aggressive fat loss block? That way the programs could be uninterrupted and my hand could heal. (One of the wounds is basically where a barbell would sit)
Do you have any programs you recommend for a cut? (Feast/famine comes to mind)
Truthfully, Iām pretty opposed to aggressive fat loss in general. But while cals are low, I like to go for max lifts. Conjugate would be good here, or TB Operator.
Conjugate sounds pretty modular for my situation!
I get the dislike for aggressive fat loss but it just feels like I need a pivot for a few weeks to keep up the challenge spirit haha
TB basebuidling popped into mind too
Yeah, for me, Iād consider make the pivot quality improved while keeping the intensity up. Canāt push the weights too great, so now itās time to crush the conditioning while still fueling like a performance athlete.
Because, like, when we push the training really hard and eat big to fuel it, what we get is a big spike in performance ability, and then it falls off. Thatās not too big. When we push the fat loss really hard really fast by not eating well for a short time, we break our metabolism, crush our hormones, and put ourselves in a state wherein, when we start eating right again, we put on more fat and less lean tissue than we started with. Itās just a bum deal.
EDIT: Saw the edit. Basebuilding is a wonderful idea.
Thatās a very good point
This is the move. My back is still stiff from the other day so it seems like a great idea
I hate how Jim wendler was so right about agile 8. Did it and the lacrosse ball work took away the SI joint discomfort
SE 3x20 today. No idea whatās itās going to look like but I know pushing motions are out. I do have some lifting hooks I can use for pull ups. Looking like a lot of leg stuff
It was honeys turn to go to the vet. Luckily sheās a foster so the adoption place covers all that! Same gastro shit. I hope itās over soon
Still canāt walk the dogs yet because of hand
I was gonna ask what movements you think you can/canāt do.
If you have a weight vest and are able to get it in place, you can do Good Mornings/Back Extensions and that could help not being able to deadlift. If you donāt have a SSB then the weight vest could also be your squat movement.
The lifting hooks could also work for inverted rows which might be better for high reps?
If you have bands you might be able to wrap them around your wrists and do high rep push work that way?
The tricky part is I canāt apply force when making a fist currently and I cant grab with my middle finger
I do have an SSB but I was thinking for the time being using BSS with a weight vest (mainly because my hips hurt from the SI joint thing and lower activity of the weekend). Might use it for the first workout to ābreak back inā. Those antibiotics are no joke
Haha yeah. The pull ups were ambitious but then I saw there was a ā3x50ā workout not just ā1x50ā
This might have to be the move. I do have the cable wrist cuffs from the last time I cut my hand so thatās an option. Just hammering extensions
Edit: I did some deeper research. The back pain is too superficial to be spinal or si. Just needs some rest
Alright for honey back, she has hookworms! Honestly, not the worst out come but now all the other dogs need to have a fecal float donr
Didnāt get around to lifting today. To put it lightly Iāve been stress studying for a big exam I have tomorrow. The brain fog from the antibiotics are making it a hard task to say the least
@T3hPwnisher Wound up buying TB Mass last night. Now I have all 3 books and it looks like an extremely compelling system to run. Itās tragic that mass has the best explanation of strength endurance work though
It also looks like a āmore completeā 5/3/1
100%. I had the first 2 books for years and thought āyeah, okā. I was told not to bother with Mass Protocol and that I already knew what was in it, and then I actually read it and it put everything together and made it all click. And then Green Protocol is like the graduate program.
Good luck on your exam!! ![]()
