I attempted dips a few months ago, but had to stop due to a severe pain in my shoulder. Haven’t done any shoulder or chest exercises since, to let it heal. But yesterday, attempted bench for the first time in ages. But the damn injury came back. It’s an awkward pain, it isn’t muscular, it feels like the joint will pop out if i move my arm too suddenly, stays with my for days.
Just wondering if anyone has had this problem? Dont really wanna go in an MRI scan again, and hoping someones got some tips from the vague information ive given! thanks
Push-Ups, Face Pulls, and Shrugs The best answer I can give is to increase the stability by strengthening your unbalanced shoulder stabilizers so if push ups. First is to assess which muscle weaknesses is causing it and how to strengthen without popping your shoulder out of socket.
What kind of pain is it? It only started when you tried dips for the first time? I have clients that can’t do dips due to the angle that their shoulder joint is put in. Do you flare your elbows when you bench? How is your posture?
Unfortunately, I think you are going to have to go get this looked at. But let me know the answers to these questions, and I’ll see if I can help you out.
