What bicep grip width/exercises hit the outside long? head of the biceps?
My numbers aren’t that impressive, but I can curl 100lbs for 5+ reps, and my arm measurement is still pretty low. I looked at my bicep while flexing and realized that my inner head of the bicep is actually larger than my outer head, which doesnt seem to be the norm for most. So-i’d like to fix that.
Just keep getting bigger man, keep adding weight to the bar and eating to gain weight, it should fix itself. Also include different lifts for the outer part ‘long head’ - hammer curls, close-grip preacher curls and close-grip ez-bar curls. Maybe also curling accross your body? But yeah, gain 50lbs, worry about it later man.
you can’t isolate the long head of the bicep…both bicep heads contract when you flex the arm…
but if your having trouble with biceps…try preacher curls or any isolated curl where your arm is against a pad…
most people don’t know how to flex their bicep properly and end up using forearms/delts to lift weight…the preacher pad forces you to use your bicep as the primary mover in the lift…I like the Hammer strength preacher curl machine…if thats availible at your gym, i suggest using that or 1 arm DB preacher curls…
you can also do some hammer curls for your brachialis which should add some thickness to the outside of your arm…

I have a 44" chest measurement with a 14.25" arm measurement and want to correct that imbalance is all.

Robbie Robinson (Arnold time bodybuilder) had an actual visible dividing line between his Biceps long head and short head. You cant work them individually, but you CAN put extra focus on one. Outside grip with Pinkys as high as possible will target inner, inside grip with a thumb elevation will target outter, also Arm elevation or turning peri movement can tweak things differently (Arnold curls).

Thanks Akuma, that’s what I was looking for. On a sidenote-whatever thread Way suggested Kpipe curls in- tried them today and my forearms are toasted. I only used up to 20’s on my top 2 sets too. Awesome.
