wow I have the best exercise. basically like a db skull, palms facing each other, head off the end of the bench so it doesnt get in the way (bigger rom), just keep arms at 45 (not straight up and down) and skull crush (or extend whatever you wanna call it) such a good stretch and kills my tris!!! wow wow new fav exercise. I do em right after smith machine close grip press.
So Akuma and other big guys, I am now hitting bis and tris twice per week, one on arms day, and then i do tris on chest and bis on back day.
so should I be doing the same workout for each one?
for example, on arms day today, for triceps i did:
smith machine close grip press
db skull crushers
standing one arm db overhead extensions
overhead rope cable extensions
…so on chest day, which is in a few days, would it be ok to do db skulls and overhead extensiosn? (I only picked two because after chest my tris are obviously pre fatigued, or should i do more?)
basically what I am asking is should i do the same exercises on chest day and back day that I do on arm day?
i wouldnt, but thats just me, i like variety. I honestly couldnt tell you what would be better, but in theory id think itd be best to do heavier exercises on your arm day, and lighter, high volume movements for your arms on their given day.
CGBP is hard for me. My tris are weak and as I get heavier in the ramped sets I actually feel my chest working hard. I guess this is to be expected. Another thing that happens is that despite trying to keep my elbows tucked in, they tend to flare out on the last 1-2 working sets. Anyone see this as a problem? It seems people keep elbows tucked in or flared on all their sets?
One thing that does seem to help with me feeling more in my triceps is pushing the bar at a slight angle towards my feet.

Yeah, you’re clearly either using too much weight, or using too much weight. Drop it down, take a video of your form, and figure it out. You should not feel your chest do anything.

Yea, what he said. Ramp slower.
It could be that you’re using too much weight plus ill form. Your elbows flaring in the middle of the exercise changes how it hits you too. Id take some time and find what works for you.
