Do You Have a Personal Mantra?

Pain is nothing compared to what it feels like to quit. give everything you got today for tomorrow may never come.

" I can and I will"

when life gives you lemons, just say ‘fuck the lemons’ and bail

“Use your faults, use your defects, then you’re gonna be a star” From a Grace Jones song. I just love that.

and: bacon and eggs, bacon and eggs (this is more of a mental picture though…if I can get it done and then I shall have some bacon and eggs)

And then there’s the ‘get it done’, ‘do it for fuck’s sakes’ and some self depreciating remarks to push through. And some not so lady-like expressions better suited for a Deadwood script

Fan-Fucking-Tastic

Out-Fucking-Standing

Holy Canoli.

Any time I experience any degree of success in my life, I very loudly repeat one of the following sounds/phrases.

You are responsible first and foremost to yourself… worry about the others afterwards.

Nobody owes you anything. You have to earn it.

“Where da white women at??” - Cleavon Little, Blazing Saddles

Not a day goes by where that thought does not cross my mind.

I have a few, but the 2 that come to mind immediately are

“Alecto”—which is simply the Greek word for "unceasing, tireless pursuit’ (loosely translated). It’s also originally the name of a Greek Fury, whose name means “unceasing unremitting anger”. Her job was to punish crimes against humanity and her effect was to drive her victims into madness, which I always liked.

There’s also a passage I recall from reading, which although hackneyed in some circles (due mostly to fanboyism, not the quality of the original work) has been particularly striking to me since I was young…

“I will not fear. Fear is the mindkiller. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me and when it has gone past I will turn my Inner Eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

“Cowboy the fuck Up.”

“Always Forward; Never Stop.”

Courage Wolf-isms also seem to be making their way into my “fuck this” mantras.

And . . .

A cookie to whomever can place it.[/quote]

Dethklok, DethAlbum II. Fuck, I think it’s Cyborg Slayers, could be Burn the Earth (For Minimum Wage)

Ive allways liked the quote, “Champions are made while no one is watching”

Other that that whenever im hating what im doing be it work or at the gym I think about all the soldiers away from there homes and familys, Also thinking about Joe Simpson from touching the void makes high rep squats not so bad.

Memento Mori
Alea Iacta Est
Be better than yesterday.

This

per aspera ad astra

say what you mean, mean what you say

pain is weakness leaving the body

its from “Burn the Earth”

“No price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself”

“gawdfuckindammit. fuck this shit.”

“beast mode, bitch”

I don’t have an explicit mantra but it would be something to the effect of “do nothing in moderation” or some other admonition against lukewarmness. whether it’s work, bodybuilding, school, whatever, u gotta go all out or not at all in my book

“Little things are the hinges, upon which big things swing.”
