From my personal experience, I find it more to stem from lack of proper information vs. laziness. Alot of the time they’ll be very motivated for several months and quit after seeing no results due to rolling with bad info about how to eat/train.

True. Vegan and vegetarian = healthy in public discourse now. I live in Chicago, and if I ever Google “heatlhy restaurants near me” it will pull up all the vegan places exclusively.

I’m near Chicago too. Artango, Smoque, and Rosebud have good options.
And Portillos is perfectly acceptable pwo food.
Now hold on… a low thyroid is a reasonable excuse ! It not like medication exists that can treat … um nevermind.
More i think about it… id say that does apply in some cases. I have lost count how many times ive had to bite my tongue when people talk about weight loss at my work.

Eh, I think fat celebration and fat shaming are equally toxic. Can we just go back to objectively looking at being overweight as unhealthy and not something indicative of a person’s entire character for better or worse?

Speaking of lousy information. I sure as hell would never taken any training or nutrition advice from any recent high school graduate that wants to play personal trainer after going to the gym for one year.
Social media is quite oversaturated with these 2 bit wannabe fitness influencers.

They don’t so much piss me off as much as they make me sad for the state of our country. I catch myself walking through the grocery store, looking at them pushing their carts full of brightly colored boxes and bags of cereal, macaroni, ice cream, etc and realize they mostly don’t care to change. Some of them doing this in electric wheel chair grocery carts, their only apparent ailment being so obese they can’t push a normal cart.
I also find myself thinking, fawk, if we go to war on our home soil, you guys are on my team?!?
