Do Fat People Piss You Off a Little?

You know you like it

I personally was hoping to see some 405lb front squats for reps

I noticed there had been more likes for my post. Thanks for that.

This had me wondering. I never handled 500 on squats. So if I were going to such a gym, three ways of removing me would have me leaving a squat rack:

  1. One or more men manage to scare me into leaving.
  2. The gym owner rightfully requests a sub-500-pound squatter to leave his private property.
  3. I stand my ground and one or more men commit assault, perhaps felony assault, by physically removing me.

Not that this ever happened at the gym Charles Bailey trained, but would you let him “work in?”
(Charles is considerate and was a trainer at the gym. He would just wait until you were finished. But what if he had a limited gym window of time?)

He liked using the 6 100lb plates as the “base” loading. Though he did warm up with just 4 100lb plates.

When I was fresh out of high school I ended up working out in a hardcore gym (mostly by accident) that sounded similar to what RT described. I myself recall “getting out of the way” on my own without being asked/told merely as a matter of respect rather than forceful obligation. At the time I may have been squating something between 225-315 for reps and if I was doing that when I noticed massive humans getting in their squat suits I would just move myself over to the leg press or whatever and come back around to squats later on in the workout. On occasion a jacked 225lb human shredded to the bone would ask politely to work in and that would be understood that I can finish up as quickly as possible and personally I liked the little bit of sets where that more experienced person could offer some advice even though it was nerve racking for a teenager.

Basically, I miss that gym and those odd experiences and think it was also sort of a right of passage if you will…not all bad is all I am saying.

I can be wrong, but i dont think Gironda allowed regular squats in his gym, let alone 500 pounders

I always wondered where the rift between powerlifters and bodybuilders originated.

That lines up with point 2 in my post.

For the record, fat people don’t piss me off in any way. I think some of you guys would do well to eat a pop tart and have a monster every once in a while so you can chill out a bit. Life is too short to be angry over nonsense. Besides snickers blizzards are a joy in life that you should be sharing with your kiddos and should really be most concerned about being an awesome parent rather than risk projecting any sort of judgement otherwise that the little ones may one day feed into or inadvertently pick up on.

Nearly 70% of active service members are overweight, report finds.

Is a dim view on fatness just a matter of “hate” or disgust? See link above.

Shame is a no-no these days, for a few antisocial behaviors: poor conduct, subpar academic and work performance, drug use, whorishness, and overeating.

In the bad old days, even in the 80’s and 90’s, when society was already going downhill, shame was still alive, and for some people it worked, including myself.

The notion was that more experienced, smarter, or upright people would moderate those who didn’t want or couldn’t moderate themselves, ranging from scolding to permanently damaged reputation, to social ostracism. That was done so families and communities didn’t have to undeservedly absorb and even suffer from the bullshit of pathological people.

The aforementioned family member of mine with mean things to say about fat people would flat-out tell my grandfather, who yo-yoed in weight (but “wore it well” because he had a V taper and had what I call muscley-fat), “You’re getting fat.”

No, that’s not nice. But just what else exactly should’ve been said? As said, I’m a patient and empathetic person who works in healthcare, but patience and empathy can wear thin.

If not shame or moderation of others, then what? I’m all ears and eyes. Anyone?

In the same boat, if it comes to justified needed violence, your ability to fight is going to be irrelevant from my perspective.

Lmao one is genetically encoded and one is a result from overeating. So much similarity (sarcasm) and I hope it’s satire but know it’s not.

Species transfiguration through diet and exercise? Can I become a grizzly bear please.

There is so much wrong with this meme I don’t even know where to begin.

Also, poor doggo lost his gains.

It makes sense if you think the big woman didn’t start out looking like the smaller one.
