Dip Bars

At my gym the dip bar is a V shape. So what is the difference between doing a wide dip or close dip. Does one work the chest more than the tri’s and vice versa.

one side for little people, one side for big people.

Same as bench, the closer in your grip, the more you are working your triceps. The further out you go, the more your are involving your chest and shoulders.

Your body position/posture influences this too.
The more you are leaning forward, the more your chest is involved, the further back or straight up you remain, the more you work your triceps.

One thing for sure: the more narrow the grip (to a point) the less stress on the shoulder joint and the less potential for injury. I think the ideal is about 22" for a man between 5’9" and 6’.
