Body Position on Dips?

I do body weight plus weight belt dips to work triceps. My question is on positioning. Should I be trying to stay vertical when I lower myself and push back up, or should I be leaning forward with my shoulders positioned somewhat in front of my arms, as if I’m kind of going towards a mid-air push up?

It’s hard to describe, but I think you might know what I’m trying to describe. Basically, vertical dips or leaning forward angled dips.

Thanks

leaning forward = more emphasis on the chest
staying “vertical” = more emphasis on the triceps

Ah, thank you.

You should be focusing more on elbow position. For triceps, keep your elbows in close to your body.

Grip width too. Wider grip with the leaned forward position to hit the pecs more; narrower grip with elbows in for triceps focus
