Just diet. Currently I am training dc style. I am about 9 weeks into a lean bulking phase. this follows an approx. 11 week cut. Started at 183 lbs, cut to 165, currently 185.
Damn those are solid results. I’m assuming you are looking leaner at 185 now than when you started at 183?

I think I am leaner now than when I started for sure. Bigger and not as fat. I am most definitely carrying it differently. I’ll throw some pics up in my hub when I get a chance. My long term goal is around 185lbs and chiseled. I plan on bulking until early 2010 and then dieting again. I will be using shelby’s services for the duration.

Not at all. It dropped a ton the first couple weeks, but now it has leveled off.
I was a bit surprised with how low of kcal Shelby put me on at first, instead of easing into it, but he knows best.
Its hard to tell during the week as I’m usually drinking a crap ton to stay full. Usually, Saturday or Sunday I start drying and emptying out and start paying more attention to the scale to see where I’m at.
So in short, 1st two weeks constant drop, I screwed up the second weigh in by putting a bunch of food in me the day before, and we’ll see how it goes this week.
My plan has been consistent for a couple weeks straight and I may get one more day out of it.

For me the fist 8 weeks i averaged 1.7 lbs. And now the second half, 7 weeks i am at 1.4 lbs. These include weeks where i lost 3 lbs and 1 week where i gained 1.2. Hell just last week i only lost .2 and that was after we lowered my carbs. So just keep consistent and keep grinding away.

cut to 165? damn how tall are you beaul?
Just to clarify, yonkeyschnitzel was the one at 165.
If i hit 165lbs i would be stage ready i would think.
I’m 6’1" Hopefully only having to cut to the low 180’s maybe upper 170s. I really have no idea. I have never been rid of all my bodyfat before. Guess we will find out.

damn thats some good progress. i hope i can lose like that. i kind of messed up my starting weight by being at zero carbs for about a week and a half prior to starting then i pigged out the night before my first day.
so my starting weight (bloated - food in stomach) was 214, but the next morning i was 207. since then for the past three weeks i’ve been floating around anywhere from 203.5 to 206 every morning.
i’ve seen some visual differences but its frustrating when i follow my plan to the T and the numbers arent dropping. i do use a lot of salty condiments (soy mainly) and always eat my veggies so it may be due to water retention a bit.
Today’s weigh in was 169.4. I started 177 and its been 4 or 5 weeks, so the fat loss has been rapid. I had some booze last night so I may have dropped some water.
Compliance was good this week with 1 deviated meal. I’ve been making up my own conditioning workouts to do instead of intervals, and due to schedule end up doing them in the evening instead of AM.
I’m lean enough to post a front shot and I have some striations starting to pop out in my legs. Lifts are still down, but seem to be rebounding a bit. I’m happy with my current shape and if I ended up with this or a bit more BF level at 10-15lbs heavier I’d be ecstatic.
I eat top round steak also called london broils. I either marinate it, broil it @ 2.5 minutes per side, then slice thin against the grain or throw it in the crock pot and make pulled beef if I’m strapped for time.
It delicious, economical, and easy to prepare. Nutritiondata.com put it at 4g fat/3 oz if you trim the fat off the sides which is easy. Check out a cut at the grocery store and you will see what I am talking about.
I can’t understand how people eat that much chicken. When I make it, I end up seasoning to kingdom come and then end up putting Frank’s on it.
As a side note, I tried some of that Walden Farms calorie free dressing Shelby had recommended in his auto-reply last week. I got ranch and found it by the diabetes, sugar-free stuff in the grocery store. Its not bad and actually tastes good. I think it is mainly vinegar with some spices and seasonings. I’ve been making buffalo ranch chicken and spinach salads and buffalo/ranch flavored cold veggie salads.
The other thing I’ve been eating on Medium days for breakfast is protein pancakes, where I put 6 egg whites and 1 egg in a blender w/ my allotted carbs, 1 tbsp splenda, and a couple large shakes of cinnamon. Then I fry it like a pancake and end up usually just making 1 huge cake type thing. Its something to look forward to because it tastes a lot like cake.

the top round sounds good ill check it out.
yeah the chicken, i season like crazy too. i found a good/cheap rub at the dollar store surprisingly enough… i mix 1 part(s) BBQ rub with 1 part(s) chicken/seafood rub, marinate a couple pounds overnight and grill it all in the morning.
ill look into that pancake thing too. have you ever tried putting protein powder in? i tried once before but it ended up sticking and burning onto the pan… fail
I actually suprised how much fat I was carrying and will be closer to 165 at the end of this. I don’t know too much about it, but I have a very frail bone structure. My hands are small and I can touch my thumb to my middle finger around my wrist. This may make me look bigger.
I’m very much looking forward to moving up to around 185 though and I’ve been as heavy as around 190. None of it was quality weight though.
Good find on the pork tenderloin as well. I have one in my freezer that I figured would be too fatty. It said on the label it had 9g fat/4oz which is about double my figure for chicken so I’ve been saving it.
For the pancakes, I have made them with protein powder before, but I get my protein allotment from the eggs along now. The flavor is good with just eggs, oats, the cinnamon and bit of splenda. The carbs are from oats which I forgot to mention. Usually 40-50g’s worth.
hmm well maybe that certain piece doesnt have the fat trimmed off the sides? or maybe its packed in oil or something… idk but this is where i got the tenderloin info:
about the pancakes if i remember i’ll give 'em a try tomorrow… after my cardio of course
Been working with Shelby for a few months now and currently cruising with my DC plan. 2 weeks mostly out of the gym means many low carb days.
Food in my fridge currently
Top Round Steak
Baked Chicken Breast
Crab Meat
Pork Tenderloin
Jumbo Shrimp
Egg Whites+some farm fresh whole eggs
Salmon Filet
-I work at a country club and get a lot of free food hence the sea
A couple sweet potatoes(these will last awhile haha)
Peanut and Almond Butter
Broccoli
Asparagus
Peppers
Salad mix
and most importantly is a lot of hot sauce, mustard, Walden Farms Bacon Ranch and Blue cheese dressing.
Will begin our “offseason” soon, with 10 or so low days in a row(wasn’t this a carb CYCLE plan? lol) I can’t begin to express how much I’ll be enjoying my high day on Monday.
