Cheers mate, much appreciated
I miss high days also. Am currently bulking and my 2 high days have been replaced with super high days. 2 cups of raw oats for breakfast, not fun.
UoH - my strength while cutting dropped off a little but not much over the entire 12 week period. Just push as hard as you can and have faith in the process.

I hate you… ![]()
My breakfast oats = 75 grams on med days, and a measly 30 grams on low days. I would kill for a 2 cup bowl of oats right now. I probably wont be gaining again until around sept-oct… so i have awhile. I hope i get those super high days though. If there is one thing i can do, it is eat. As you can probably tell from my pics… LOL.
Surprisingly I am feeling good this week even though my carbs were cut back on all my days.
beaul
when u get ur carbs cut, is it drastic or moderate?

Be sure to keep us updated on your bulking. I am definitely looking forward to see how he will handle it with me. I am going to switch over to him dictating my training at that time too.
Are you having him set up your training too or just diet?

It was a mild change, but it effected every meal with carbs. I really love oats, and i hate cutting them back the most. It will be interesting to see if this is my new base diet. I doubt i will be going back up. Its all good though, since i still feel good. This was actually one of my better feeling weeks. Who needs carbs… i want to be ripped more than i want carbs.
Cutthoat25, are you thinking about signing up with shelby?
Mmm Carbs…
Just curious, has anybody else with Shelby ever done a trace carbs diet? That was my base plan.

Yeah Im thinking about it. since Jan. I switched sports, from football to boxing and Im dropping weight from 200lbs to 165lbs fighting weight. So far Ive been able to carb cycle my self down to 175 pretty successfully, but now Im hittin a wall. I have followed shelbys+CT’s advice through T-Nation and Elitefts, but I think I might need some direct help now. I dont want to lose weight and look like shit like so many combat athletes do, I would like to do it the right way and look good and be strong when I step in the ring.

nope. he started me with carb cycling. were you significantly over weight when you started? is there any certain circumstance that you can think of that may be a reason? something like odd fat distribution or something like that…

Must have been odd fat distribution. I know I’m insulin resistant, however I’ve seen a biosigniture prac and he said It’s the cortisol mostly though. So yeah.
Stats when starting were 6’3" 215lbs, 14-15% BF. Aw well, just curious.
what is considered “odd” fat distribution?..Im seriously curious

odd, uneven etc… say for instance he had a full visibility in his abs but had significant love handles and pec fat. something like that.
thanx for replying…so the best cure for that situation would be trace carbs?
oh uh i have no idea. i just made up a random situation but i do know that somewhere in CT’s fat loss thread he goes over where different hormones tend to distribute fat… or you could probably find it on google.
btw in most cases i ‘think’ odd fat distribution is most easily cured (for lack of a better word) with supplementation like Poliquin’s biosignature stuff
My plan is the same for 4th week. I screwed up last night and ate about a pound of meat and some leftover brown rice. I’d be more upset with myself but the weight is still coming off but I didn’t have as drastic weight loss this week due to some carb rebound and food in my belly in the AM.
Weight was 172.8 down from 173.4. I have also been skipping on average of 1 cardio session a week, usually intervals on Friday that I can no longer skip.
Shelby was not too pissed off.

i can see subtle differences in my leanness but the scale isnt moving much and its pissing me off. when the weight comes off for you has it been linear?

Of course Shelby is not pissed off. Remember dude, this is about you, not him. He can’t come watch you eat and then give motivational speeches while you plug away at 90 minutes of cardio.
He could care less lol, he supplies the tools and you use them.
Are you having him set up your training too or just diet? [/quote]
Just diet. Currently I am training dc style. I am about 9 weeks into a lean bulking phase. this follows an approx. 11 week cut. Started at 183 lbs, cut to 165, currently 185.

Not me, but we are slowly getting there… Dropped my carbs again this week. On my low days its only 30 above trace carbs.

Damn those are solid results. I’m assuming you are looking leaner at 185 now than when you started at 183?
