there was no negativity meant in my response. i was just thinking out loud…
by asking for advice i was more leaning towards more of what i may be in store

Sorry man, im sick and a little cranky at the moment
So what to expect; he’ll probably start you off with one or two high carb days mixed in with your medium and lower days to assess your tolerance to carbs. After a week or two, depending on how your doing, those will either be reduced or go all together.
He doesnt rely on a whole bunch of supps (sorry Biotest) so forget about any sorta v-diet shit…youll be eating real food and plenty of it. At least it seems that way initially, especially on high days. Within a couple weeks your damn hungry. As for cardio, I wont say what he likes becasue I hate people trying to get the info for free, but its fairly standard BB stuff. Hes said it before, he likes fasted cardio and thats becasue he hasnt seen much catabolism with his clients.
Like I said before, shelby is a good dude. He takes pride in what he does, answers questions promptly (always gets back to me within a couple hours) and, if you follow his advice, youll get to where you want to be.
Figured I would post in this thread too since Asholin seems to have abandoned it. I will throw some updates out here and there. I debated starting a log, but I am pretty busy as it is and it probably wouldn’t last.
I wanted to sign up for 6 months, I think that was $700, so I said fuck it and did a year. Its a long commitment to let someone pretty much dictate my life. But only because I want to get the most out of it. So far in 10 weeks I have only missed a meal on a couple low carb Sundays because that is my day to sleep in. I haven’t had a high carb day in 4 weeks now :(. But I have made more progress in those 4 than in the first 4. So that is what is keeping me going now. Usually when I diet myself I have more carbs in. But I dont question the man, I just do what he says.
The reason I signed up is because I have never been leaner than in my avatar. Also, the avatar pic was 2 years ago and I haven’t missed a workout and I feel like I haven’t made optimal progress. So I want to cut down, then have him help me construct a proper gaining plan. Might have to do another year with him.
Bottom line, I have dedicated over 4.5 years to this. 98% of it never missing a meal or workout and I don’t feel like I have made optimal progress despite working my ass off every week. So its time to let someone else have a go at telling me what to do.
I’m 6’1"
Avatar pic - May of 08’ 184
On the right - started with shelby at 225
On the left - 9 weeks in at 209.
Just to preface this, I don’t really care about the actual bf%, its all about how I look. But i do use the skin fold pinches to track progress.
Avatar i was just going by single site skin fold(Suprailiac) about 6-7mm = about 8-9%. But realistically I feel I was higher than that. Now at Week 9 I am 15mm on the single site, started with Shelby at 23mm.
I told Shelby I want to get down to single digits on my ab site skin fold, right next to belly button. Long ways to go there. I am sitting at 26mm now.

no worries… btw thanks. thats what i was looking to know. i figured he’d be into whole foods and i heard he doesnt use many supps. thats gonna be hard for me. i love pounding whey and simple carbs pre-workout… oh well ill live. i would ask him personally (i already purchased the PROGRESSIVE) but i would rather not bother him. i want to get lean enough to have abdominal definition but idk if thats doable in 12 weeks at my body fat… im 5’10-11", 205 and there’s only a vague outline of my upper abs visible now. think its doable? im just wondering how low my weight will be once im there…
You can still use whey etc, but your better to relt on wholefoods anyway. Better anabolic response etc.
If you can see your upper abs then in 12 weeks shelby will have them out
I must say that the amazing thing about this whole thing is how simple it is you will feel like you can actuall do it by yourself… this were Shelby comes in, during this 15 weeks I felt the urge severayl times to switch to a bulking cycle cause i thought i was looking smaller and week but week after week the photos were saying the opposite and I started noticing vascularity and compliments from people in the gym. Its all a mind game… our brain will tell you that you are wasting all your effort and that your muscle is being eaten by the cardio, its not like that !
Shelby doesnt go by numbers but I decided to track my progress just to make sure he knew what he was doing. I ve been training for 5 years and as beaul said… I was dedicated to the iron game for real but my body did not represent all my effort… now my work is staring to show, I havent change the way I trained just my nutrition and cardio.
My sups during this whole thing:
Whey Protein (Myofusion Gaspari and Elite Whey Dymatize)
Omega 3 (Flameout and Carlson s Very Finest Fish Oil)
Carnitest (Met Rx)
Creatine (Biotest)
Leucine (Biotest)
HOT-ROX (Biotest)
RezV (Biotest)
Green Tea Bags (I drink this mixed with all my water)
You dont really need all this, but I feel that using these supplements I perform better when dieting. Basically protein, fish oil, aminoacids and fat burner.
TEKEN-Im just wondering about the cardio. It it the timing, methods, or what? Im wondering because in your post it sounds like something newly invented. Hope I didnt come off as a smart ass Im not trying to be one and thanks for sharing your experience.
yeah, Day 38 straight for me with cardio, mixture of HIIT and Moderate intensity. Fun Fun Fun
Just having the confidence in what he tells me and not having to worry about what to eat and when is the main thing for me. Its only mildly harder right now than how i usually diet. We will see where it goes from here. New levels of leanness will be awesome and exactly what i wanted to get out of this.
Its ok heheh, the difference is that this time I’m getting my caloric deficit just from increased cardio opposed to eating less… Which sucks ! Ehehh so having a diet that allows you to eat a good amount of calories 2500 - 3000 depending on your size and with carbs doesn’t seem so hard heheh. I’ve made steady progress for a month with the same caloric intake hehe and never more than 60 min of cardio daily.
I just hired Shelby too and got my first week plan a couple of minutes ago.
I’m starting at 5’7" 180lbs, probably a little under 15% bodyfat. After its all over, I’ll probably keep going and see if he can get me up to a lean 185.
I’ll throw my updates in here every couple of weeks as well.
My first week is 2 high days (Mon + Thurs), 2 med days, then 3 low days. Low days are short intervals and medium days are 30 min steady state, with nothing on high days. Cardio is supposed to be done in the AM which is a pain and I may not be able to do it 4 days a week so I will just move it to the PM.
I’m doing a 4 day upper lower split for lifting.
The calories are surprisingly low and my meat consumption has dropped from ~10oz to ~4.5oz per serving but I’m eating it more frequently. Luckily, I’m not that fat so I will hopefully be able to turn this around and start gaining within 8 weeks.
Low days are no fun but high days are constant feeding with undense carb sources so you stay full.
I may post pics Sunday depending on how flattering they are.
ahhh, those were the days… 30 min of cardio 5 times a week. That would seem so easy right now.
I wont detail it, but lets just say i am more than double that now. Luckily its still at a single session/day. Just did day number 46 in a row with cardio. The only day i dont do cardio upon waking is saturday, but saturday is leg day. So instead of cardio, i get up and do legs after breakfast.
This is week 13 for me, still chugging along. Haven’t had a high day since late march. But I did get 2 cheat meals on weeks 11/12, so that was nice.
Week-0 225.8
week-12 204.8
I will update with pics when i feel there was a big enough change from my last ones in this thread.

Are you a girl ? Or do you weight like 100 pounds? I dont think that 4.oz of meat are enough you should verify that wilth shelby he usually recomends 1.5gr x body weight during low days…
