Dieting with Shelby

Yeah, now that I am lean gaining myself I haven’t felt the need to update in here. Still plugging away. Really enjoying the daily energy and relaxing of the mind. Well relaxing compared to 4 weeks ago. Still doing cardio 4-5 times a week and still hungry most days.

3 weeks into it, started at 189.8, now at 194. Caliper measurements are looking really good too. Actually went down .5 mm when all 5 are totaled together. After adding carbs back in and cutting the cardio down my quad skin fold dropped 2mm. :smiley:

I will update pics when I feel it is noticeable. Obviously when gaining the pics change even slower.

I know shelby is a big fan of borage oil. Does shelby have you taking it? I’m taking about 2 grams a day at 206 lbs I wonder if its doing anything for me…along with fish oil, of course.

He has never mentioned borage to me. After you get your fish oils, nothing else is going to make or break you anyway.

I’m still plugging away too. Went on two trips this summer which fucked me royally. Still going to lean gain for a while then cut hard Jan 1- May 31st I believe.

Diet didn’t change hardly at all, just some carbs.

I am doing almost the full Anaconda Protocol however. 2 FINiBARs instead of 3.

Sorry if this has been asked, only on page four of this. Does Shelby give you a specific meal plan or just general guidelines? Like, is it Meal One: One chicken breast, two cups broccoli, etc. Or does he give you a specific list of acceptable foods and you design your own meals?

Meals are up to you within reason.

Going ok, just had a pretty big bomb dropped on me that i am trying to deal with though. The dreaded Low Testosterone. I had a feeling it has been low for about 3 years. Finally got it tested and I was right. Now just trying to find a doc that will support my endeavor to correct the situation. T-3 is low too. So I will definitely not be dieting hard again until i get my test levels up or T-3. Cut back to 3 days/week of lifting with 5/3/1 and taking it a little easier to get good recovery with what i do have.

put on about 8-10lbs so far in 8 weeks. All water and fat if you ask me. Hopefully i can get my hormones in check soon. Maybe i will post pics in 4 more weeks.

are you sure your T levels are the problem?

i just got pretty extensive testing done and my doc (specialist not physician) told me i have “major hypothyroidism” which probably caused my low T-levels and was also the reason i had such bad results with shelby even though i followed all his instructions

I have had all the thyroid blood tests done. They aren’t quite in the optimal range. But I have yet to find a Doc that will agree with me on that and actually treat it. Here are my numbers from my last tests.

9/20/201
TSH - 2.38 uIU/mL [0.450-4.500]
Thyroxine (T4) - 8.3 ug/dL 4.5-12.0
T-3 Free,Serum - 2.3 pg/mL 2.0-4.4

10/14/10
Thyroxine (T4) FREE - 1.1 ng/dL [.8-1.8]

On another note… I have begun dieting down again. I only have 10 weeks left with shelby. Gonna make the most of it.

Just curious, what were your T numbers, are you going to get some sort of HRT?

Started Testim 1% gel, 5 grams daily about 5 weeks ago. Its mildly helped. I get another blood draw done in 2 weeks and go back to the Endo. If numbers are still low/normal, im hoping to jump over onto an injectable. Testim is rather expensive and a pain in the ass.

I have a thread in the T-Replacement section if you want to read more. I will be updating that thread after my next blood test. I also purchased a 4 sample saliva test that i am waiting to do. I just got it. Probably do that week after next.
