Diet during sickness?

How do you all deal with sickness and diet. I just got Covid and my I can’t possibly meet my macros. Even with shakes, it’s just not gonna happen with my appetite and everything tasting horrible.

Do most of you just go off diet for a few days or do you force yourself to stick to macros somehow? Any tips?

Thanks all!

I am compliant the majority of my life so that, on a few days when I’m not, it doesn’t impact me.

When I’m sick, my job is to heal.

I just eat whatever i can put in my body and focus on recovery. That usually means just a lot of carbs and electrolytes.

Just eat whatever you can. I was sick over Christmas and pretty much are won ton soup every day. Unless you eat total garbage a small diet break is not a bad thing.
Hope you get well soon.

My guidelines for illness and weight lifting:

If you have a fever, don’t lift.

If you go to the gym and find that you are significantly weaker, go home and get well.

I have sinus problems, but working out has an antihistamine effect. Heads colds and such: I lift weights

Thanks all for the responses. The morning I started getting symptoms, my first set was an easy 20 walking lunges holding 35lbs in each hand. That shot my HR to 170! I finished the entire workout, but struggled trying not to pass out between sets.

That was at 0500. By noon, I had trouble walking from the bed to the bathroom. I’ll take your advice and just eat whatever I can get down and make up for it after.

Yeah def just eat whatever you can. A few days or a week won’t effect much. You’ll drop water and glycogen but you can get that back very quick.
Won ton soup man! Always makes me a feel better. 2 quarts per day sets me straight.
That you with the bass?
Playa a little guitar myself. Was thinking of getting a five string bass. Maybe med scale.

What really threw me off was getting sick the day after my very first TRT shot, in fact very first anabolic of any kind ever. At first I thought I was having some kind of reaction.

I’ve been loving that I have unflavored whey powder I can just throw in orange juice, wonton soup or whatever!

Yes, that was me on main stage House of Blues Dallas when I was a working musician. 10 years later and I can’t fathom how I ever had that energy. Hopefully TRT fixes that.

My unsolicited advice, either go all the way with a six string or get a double octave 4 string with a detuner. The 5 string is really just a complicated 4 string or a substandard 6. I can do almost anything on my 4 that someone could do on a 5, but less muting work and mud. For more melodic or classical pieces, I’d just switch to the 6 for the extended range.

Example of stellar 4 string work.

Yeah he’s crushing it!!! Good to know about the 4 vs 5 string. I’d prob just go 4. 6 is too much i think.

As far as starting th TRT and getting sick goes. It does happen. It’s called test flue. I believe it mostly has to do with the solvents or the carrier oil but it does happen.
Reat up! Eat some won ton!!! :joy:
