Dickheads at the Gym

Mezzzmerizing isn’t it!

I use him to confuse posters in e-battles, like the one I am having with PX. I think it’s working…

I pre-empt a ‘fucking jackass’ coming my way so I plan on adding some hippie cyberdelic colours to the avi and maybe this will knock him off his stride?

Wow, haven’t been this ticked off at someone at my gym in a while.

So I’m sitting on the seated calf raise machine with about four plates loaded on it facing the way one is supposed to when using the machine. I look in the mirror and this dude is staring at the back of my head, about 4 feet behind me.

Now, this guy is pretty huge. Probably could be a pro BBer. I don’t know why this is relevant but thought I’d throw it in there.

So I turn and look at his face and he looks away. I continue to sit there waiting for my next set. The next thing I know he is at the side of me, talking (I wear the kind of headphones that are like earplugs and can’t hear shit with them in). I take one out and he says, “Hey, you using that.”

WTF DO YOU THINK YOU FUCKSTICK. NO, I’M JUST SITTING ON THIS THING, WITH BEADS OF SWEAT ON MY FACE AND PLATES ON THE MACHINE FOR NOTHING.

I say, “Ya, it’s my last set.”

He rolls his eyes, sighs, and puts down his water bottle about a three feet from me and proceeds to wait.

I don’t know why the shit pissed me off so much. Probably because when someone is on a machine, I sit back a ways and don’t stare at them like I am trying to rush them.

What do you guys think? Do you stand and stare at the person when you are waiting to use the machine they are on? Because if you do, you should kill yourself. thx.[/quote]

Next time you look him in the eyes and finish.

Like I said, you are a little slow. How many times did I tell the other poster that her analogy about getting off a tread mill does NOT fit here? Yet when I finally answer her just to answer to her analogy THAT DOES NOT FIT, you then use that as if I was the one that brought it up?

That makes no sense…just like the rest of the nonsense in this thread.

You can finish arguing with yourself after this one.

Hey maybe I am dense but isn’t the OP just doing a parody of X’s “Little Asshats in the Gym” thread? I also didn’t read every page of this thread so if that has been revealed already, ignore this post.

I think that thread started in response to this one.

Here’s a basic rule I think we can agree on…

If someone is using a piece of equipment, and it isn’t plausible for somebody else to work in for any number of reasons, here’s 2 routes:

  1. Said person is busting their ass, sweating, straining, etc, ask how many sets they have left. If they are actually working hard, they most likely won’t be on for long anyways.

  2. Said person is goofing off/half-assing it, be more forceful about it if they initially say they have a lot of sets left. I find that people who half-ass sets usually aren’t too possessive about equipment anyways. If they don’t take their workouts seriously, they generally don’t care that much if they’re doing tricep kickbacks on a bench you need, or standing OH single tricep extensions with that same 5 lb DB.

Wait a minute now, you brought up Ronnie Coleman. I just wanted to know if your standards apply across the board or if they apply essentially only to you and your preferred endeavor.

I agree with Worzel here. Find something like a Metroflex gym. The one I’m familiar with had no a/c. People don’t lounge around there talking on cell phones. Otherwise cope. Bitterness is out of line.

Buy your own shit or learn how to get along with people. I own my gym. It’s in my office. I have a few friends who work out there/with me sometimes. they all have keys, app 4 of them. If the guys are there and someone is using something, I wait, or they wait. It’s that old politeness thing.

Because if I want to be king dick, who’s going to spot me? And they like not paying for stuff, playing whatever music they like and the no waiting thing can use chalk have plenty of basic solid stuff etc.

Hook up with some garage lifters, powerlifters, or make due. Buy your own stuff, or make do. It’s not like this is rocket science.

I brought up Ronnie Coleman to show THE STRENGTH AND SIZE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN US meaning working in with me would likely do nothing but slow him down or hold him back. How is it you still didn’t understand the point being made?

If someone is that much stronger than someone else, working in with them is not always the way to go. That means the guy using the machine needs to go ahead and finish his work out so other people can use the machine.

On top of that, how many times do I need to write that this is something I rarely see before it sinks in?

Why would I change gyms when it is usually very unlikely for someone to sit on a machine for any extended period of time after I make it known that I need to use it?

Why the fuck would someone see Ronnie Coleman getting ready to use the machine they are on and act like they have all day to do what they need to do?

When you are on a piece of equipment, it is NOT yours. This especially applies when the machine is something s easily interchangeable like a fucking CALF RAISE MACHINE like in the OP. For someone to sit there on that machine when someone else needs to use it acting like you just have to finish all of your sets first is retarded.

That scenario would make sense if he was using so much weight that a weaker person would make more sets harder to perform, but not when the guys is WEAKER than the one waiting to use the machine on a CALF RAISE.

Well, when I talked to Ronnie Coleman I definitely did not get that he was a dick head like some of the “big guys” on T-muscle. So I bet Ronnie would just ask about using the equipment I was on and since he was never anything but nice I would have no problem at all moving my ass for him. Now in said thread guy was a dick about it, that is totally different.

I love how X can’t see any similarity between what he says and what EmilyQ was saying. Ignorance is in fact bliss in X’s case. Some people can only see the world from their own point of view and way of thinking. They may also just be to bullheaded and to full of themselves to remember courtesy and respect for others while touting their use by others when dealing with them. Irony- Dawwwwg

LOL.

The only people being a “dick head” would be those sitting on pieces of equipment for extended periods of time when people need to use it.

The reason this happens so rarely is because most people don’t act like that if they are there to work hard. Most also have the common sense to understand that some people are very serious so playing on the machines isn’t tolerated.

Bottom line…if you are on an easily interchangeable piece of equipment like a fucking CALF RAISE machine, then get the fuck off and let other people use it in between sets if they are waiting on it. To not do so is stupid and selfish…and you know it is when “mctootsy” is championing your cause.

SLOW’ I think not there budday! YOU BROUGHT UP RONNIE COLEMAN ‘BEFORE’ your interaction about the treadmill ya fucking jackass idiot!

All this elitist shit about letting bigger, stronger people use equipment over weaker smaller people is from your closed off mind! The rest of us mature adults just simply ASK or if that is beyond us we come up with non-offensive, non-threatening ques to let the other person know we would like to use that piece of equipment (otherwise the gym would be an asshat, dickhead free for all)

I really think you were fuming over your asshat experience and dragged that stink over into this thread.

Mmm all this anger talk has made me wonder…

I’d bet you have an industrial strength keyboard’ made out of adamantium, one with kevlar buttons to withstand the pounding it gets from all those angry posts you make (I can also see a clown horn on your monitor to’ for when you get excited and giggle like a little girl honk honk). I think you slam the buttons so hard’ I can actually feel your text on the screen’ like some sort of e-braille (remember now’ I am only kidding!)

Jayzuz’ you must get tired of all this shit, seriously! Maybe you are a gentleman in REAL life but inside your a smouldering caldron of ‘FUCK YOU’ so when you come home you end up taking all your frustrations out on us poor bastards here a T-Nation.

Dickheads, Asshats, Douhcebags, Jackasses the lot of us…

Worzel…I still love you man.

Hey X you get what you give, and what you give is a lot of noise and attitude so obviously it is what you are gonna get. Don’t act like I am championing anything, you are just mad I call you on your bullshit and will continue to anytime what you say reeks of ignorant assholishness. And the last name is McStoots write it right or leave it alone.

Dude, I’m laughing at you. Really. Keep it up. Great entertainment.

The reason I rarely have to deal with this is because most people don’t act or seem to think like you.

Thanks X I take that as a compliment coming from you.

What’s wrong with what Professor X is advocating? Essentially they’re just saying they don’t support people using machines for an absurd amount of time or individuals that aimlessly use equipment. I know that I’ve a schedule and whenever I’ve a chance to go to the gym I can’t spend an hour waiting for someone to finish leg pressing 10 lbs for reps as they work on their laptop, I feel that if they’re not actually going to use something they should allow someone else to. At the gym I do my sets and get off the equipment, I expect the same courtesy in return.

Did you read the original post? What you and X theorize happened matters not, only what the original poster said happened matters. But, by all means make the story out to be whatever you need it to be so you can feel as though your point of view is right.

Gotta love those Red Herrings…
