Determining Somatype Accurately?

Hey, I have been real interested in determining my somatype lately so I can go about my training / nutrition the best way possible to gain some muscle with as little fat as possible (gotta keep the weight I gain mostly muscle due to wrestling season, ect)

Anyways, I did that survey that is on this site and I just have a few questions?

I’m 15, 5’ 11" and 125ish lbs, haven’t weighed myself in a week or so. I USED to be 156lbs at 5’ 9" but after a sh*tty year, depression, bad nutrition, lost a lot of weight.

Now, I wasn’t skinny at the 156, nor was I fat. I have been “fat” in the past, when I was 10-12 year old age, then kinda sprouted up. I haven’t been naturally skinny either ever in my life, except when I was small, like all kids.

How would you determine if you have a fast metabolism or not? I seem to put weight on fairly easily, but I also can tkae it off fairly easily (experienced this during the yo-yo this year of weight gain and loss).

The survey this site offers came back as saying I was mesomorph, but are there any other sites that are fairly accurate you find that also can help me determine my somatype?

Some quick facts about me that I found popped up on a lot of sites that help you determine it:

I have freakishly long arms, neck, pretty small torso.
Long neck.
My limbs are extremely thing while my torso seems to carry all my weight (chest and abs), such as you can see every bone in my arm, leg, ect.

If a fast metabolism means getting hungry after just being full, then I guess I have a fast metabolism, BUT if I eat more calories than I burn, unlike a true ectomorph, I gain weight easily.

Any help?

Thanks guys, this is just to help me determine which way I should go about gaining some muscle, ect.

Why does it matter? Bust your ass in the gym and eat a lot of good food and you will gain. End of discussion.

You seem dangerously underweight O.O!

EAT FOR YOUR FRIGGEN LIFE!!!

At that weight/height, I wouldn’t worry so much about what your eating, as long as it has SOME sort of nutritional value.

EAT!!!

And lift of course.

Once you get to a regular weight, you can cut back on the crappy food. Start with Berardis 7 highly effective habits, if you can find a link somewhere.

why the hell are you worrying about fat gain your 126 when you should way 170 to be even healthy. jsut eat everything. you were fat when you were 10? thats called baby fat that doesnt mean you were ever fat.

Friedrice,

I swear to God you better not start this up again.

Follow the information we gave you in your last two posts and stop trying to over complicate things.

Its just getting stupid now and your wasting our time.

Oh no, I am bulking up, I was just wondering for the hell of it what kind of body type I have, that’s all.

I’ve been reading a lot of articles lately and I came across the FFB one, does me going from 156 to 126 make me a “FFB”, even though I was never “fat”?

A question is a question guys. There is a difference between overcomplicating things and simply querying to find further details.

I’d help you if I could, but I am no expert in this field Friedrice >_<

Your right.

Fried I understand your quest for knowledge, but I honestly belive that you will not be able to determine you Somatype right now due to your under weight status.

Perhaps in 6 months or a year when your body and metabolism has a chance to normalize you will be able to determine your true somatype.

Your past under nurished state has caused damage to your energy systems and hormonal balances and this is going to take some time to repair.

You may gain a bit of fat during your “repair/bulk”, a lot of that is due to your body’s survival mechanism during periods of starvation. You actually have made your body prone to more fat storage because it thinks that food will be in short supply again.

Focus on your nutrition and exercise and let your body heal, then worry about the fine details.

Your body type is “skinny little wimp” now shut up, lift, eat and stop stressing over stupid ass bullshit.
