Decreasing Intensity

Over the past few weeks, I have realized that I could not lift with as much intensity as i usually do. On top of that, my progress has been stopping and i have actually gotten weaker in certain lifts.

I always make my diet a priority so its always high protein, mod-hi carb, mod health fat. I cannot think of a good reason for this occurence. What could be the problem?

Well, your lifts going down could simply mean that you have plateaued on those lifts. Try switching up to different variations and seeing if that helps.

Also, when was the last time you took it easy/took some time off lifting? Your body/CNS may need a break.

Try taking a week or two either completely off, or just doing light workouts (stay away from failure, just play with some new exercises). Then try coming back and seeing if that doesn’t help.

If it doesn’t, then switch exercises.

well, its been a while since i took a break. i recently started a really cns taxing program. my energy level has been really low lately too and i have trouble waking up. ill probably take a week or two off with just light workouts!
