oh elitexc still has enough money left in the coffers to put kimbo up agains gannon on pay per view in the next little while, before they go under

Kimbo never had an actual chance of making a name in MMA. All he was ever good for is beating chumps and bums in street fights (rather unimpressively I might add).
Please tell us exactly what about someone training under Bas rutten renders him without a chance of making a name in mma
Really? Stunning, maybe you shoudl get into the stock market next, because i hadn’t heard that predicted by over 90% of everyone who knows anything about mma
Let’s say Cabbage Carrera started training under Bas Rutten. That’s a fair comparison. Both Kimbo and Cabbage are past their prime and lack actual potential to progress very far in the sport.
Now, because he’s trained by Rutten, does that mean he’s going to amount to something? Hmmmmm… Maybe we should send all of the shitty fighters to Bas and let him change the course of MMA history with his stunning transformations. No disrespect intended towards Bas Rutten, of course.
Thank God for that 10%. I salute you, gentlemen. The other 90% of you can have fun at the Kimbo afterparty.

I was at the fight. I would not want to be Kimbo after the knockout. The crowd turned on him quick.
The crowd though was full of douchebags with a chip on their shoulder and some of the hottest women I have ever seen. I swear they went around and picked up the best lookin women in Miami and bussed them in.
I don’t understand what it is about MMA that attracts so many “Jagger-Bombs” type guys.
Sometimes people don’t understand when I say I hate MMA because of the fans. I guess it’s a strange thing to say- you don’t hear people not liking baseball because of the type of people that watch the games.
But the jagerbomb types… oh I hate them, and boxing is too complicated (or as they would say, boring) for them to pretend to understand. I feel bad for the hardcore MMA fans/practitioners like the ones on this board- you guys truly get overshadowed by those doucebags, and as long as they are the ones watching, the sport will never be taken seriously.
I pretty much feel the same way. I used to watch PPVs at friends houses that were casual fans. Now I watch them at home because by the end of the first fight I want to kill all of them.
It’s like “those guys” at concerts. I love going to concerts but there are always “those guys” that are there just to get wrecked and throw up on me.

We’re probably just arguing semantics then. Cabbage Carrera has made a name for himself just by the fact that when you say his name, I know who he is. I just dont htink that you necessarily have to win a title to make a name for yourself
And you misread what I wrote. I said (sarcastically) that I hadnt heard 90% of knowledgable fans predicting the quick demise of kimbos unblemished record. In other words, that’s ALL we’ve been heard for the last 4 months or so
I agree. Cabbage has made a name for himself. He’s seen better days, but has definitely been in some entertaining fights. Hopefully we’ll have a better fight to talk about before too long.

Ok, you named someone training under Bas who hasnt made his name in mma (yet.) Now answer the question and tell us what render him WITHOUT EVEN A CHANCE of making his name in mma?
Please note that my original post does not state, nor even imply that “training w Bas = guaranteed name in MMA.” But reasons for “no chance at making a name in mma” should be along the lines of “no intent or desire to compete” or “has the athletic ability of a slug”
Dana usually strikes me as a pompous ass at best, and an underhanded scumbag at worst. But in this video he makes some very good points and has an excellent analogy to the petruzelli/kimbo fight fix/incentive to stand/whatever. granted it’s easy to seem even handed and fair by bashing eliteXC when they dont have a leg to stand on with this debacle, but its still a decent video worth the 2 and a half minutes to watch
As you can plainly see in this bare knucle fight against Gammon, Kimbo might not be the most talented, or even talented, but he certainly does have a hard head and no fear of taking a beating:
BTW Fuck Kimbo and all the re-treads on eliteXC; I’ll go where ever Gina is on.
I wonder if Tito will sign there now?

Agreed on all points. Dana actually made some sense there.
