Deadlift Technique

How’s my deadlift? I think i’m not pushing properly with my legs, which leads to raising my hips meanwhile the bar isn’t going up. How can I solve this?

I’m performing a 95 kg 3x5 FSL on the video, trying different things on each set:
On the first one I’m starting from the bottom, on the second one from an upper position and on the last set I’m deadlifting WITHOUT shoes (I normally perform the deadlift with high heel shoes).

Deadlift is supposed to have a higher hip position to start than say olympic lifting. Instead of squatting so far down before beginning, start at that slightly higher position where the bar actually begins to move and your hips won’t shoot so much. If you want to start a little lower than that, ok, but you need to be tighter at the start so that your hips and the bar can move more at the same time. If you can’t create enough tension to do that, you need to lower your training max or do some more volume with light sets of 10 to hammer in the technique.

Your form is fine.

Thanks for the replies!

I’ll try to improve my numbers and technique (even though Jim says it’s fine, so I’ll stay cool and confident)

I thought I was the only one into that weird fetish

I ONLY deadlift in a full drag. With a corpse paint make-up if I’m going to hit PR.

And personnaly i think your hips are way to low, and you have a really weird set up BUT I’m not going to argue with Jim on that.
