I haven’t had one serious injury. But I avoid a lot of the guard positions that stress the knees and hips the most.
Especially when you do it up a mountain. ![]()
Work on the clean & jerk and its variations for speed, overhead squats & snatch. Like 5 rep sets, maybe 5 sets total or until speed & form breaks down.
Use the rows & rdl’s & ohp for accessory work.
That will get you stronger & keep you busy until you get more weight.
If you can work up to 50-100reps in a set yes they will build hypertrophy and the form break down is not an issue with 155.
@marine77, you are 100percent confusing heavy weight for 20reps with 155 for 50-100reps.
What you are talking about should not even be brought up in a thread with lifter only using 155#.
BTW, what about filling buckets up with rocks and using them to add more weight?
I know that sounds so stupid to most here, but a real champion, a real horse in horsein cockery weight does what needs to be done.
Thanks, cretin. It’s definitely supernatural stuff…
Cinder blocks.
30 pounds for $2.50. Unless you find them in the woods for free.

You think rocks grow on trees?
YES!!! Horsein it!!
Saddam?
Sorry I’ve not replied!
Thanks for all the responses. More weights are imminent! Paid off a big chunk of debt I had and so have freed up a decent amount of money each month.
I have maxed out the weight I have on the deadlift and am currently just adding 1 rep per set per workout. I know the weight is fairly light but I’d rather work up slowly.
I’m going to keep the deadlift, especially now I’m able to get more weight, I forgot how much I like it vs the other lifts. Id rather keep it if only because I enjoy it and use a row or lat pull down to supplement it
Just found this vid of mine from almost 2-years ago.
230ish x 33 reps, mostly doubleoverhand grip- builds you up all over-
Tbh trying to lose substantial weight at 6’2” 200lbs sounds silly. He has two options:
-
spend months cutting now to get to an end result which where he still has no definition because of a complete lack of muscle (which he categorically won’t be able to add on a cut)
-
spend maybe 4 months bulking to gain 10lbs of muscle and 6lbs of fat, resulting in a ~1.5% net gain in bodyfat, which he can then slice away in a way that will look and feel good
200lbs at 6’2” is nowhere close to big enough where he should be cutting, it’s honestly likely close to a normal BMI.
(Edit: upon scrolling it looks like the poster didn’t actually say his weight, some other guy did? If the poster is 90kg or less I’m gonna say he def shouldn’t cut. Above 100? Maybe, but not to below 90tbh)
Late reply! I’m only on here intermittently.
I’m 96kg at the moment. Took 2 weeks off for a holiday and didn’t bother counting and gained 2 kg.
I have a wedding to go to in august next year that I want to slim down for. For now I’m not too worried as long as I don’t balloon up so I’m just monitoring it all to see what happens.
