Sorry, typed it all in and it vanished. So…Wanted to post to motivate myself ( and maybe others) so here is my story. Stopped deadlifting about a year ago. So I try to do the last workout from that time, a pulling workout. Right in the middle, deadlifts. Three sets working up to a 5x5 finish at 225. With the T-Nation shining down on me, I put another plate on each side. 315 lbs. Low for T-Nation standards? Yes. But more than I’ve ever put on a bar FOR ANYTHING!

First try? Nothing. No movement. Now I’m getting angry. I’m training alone like always and there is nobody else in the gym. Second try ( about 5 minutes later) ? 6 inches of lift maybe and crashing down! Now I’m really pissed off. 5 minutes rest and…Got it! I’m standing there, looking in the mirror, hips forward, shoulders back and watching my grip come open ( no staps). But I don’t drop it, I dont just fall apart in form, I PUT THE BAR BACK ON THE GROUND. And yes, I fought like hell and yes, I just couldn’t believe how it felt. I’ts been three days and I feel it everywhere. And I can’t wait to do it again. I love the T-Nation. God speed and good luck to all

Very nice! It’s a great feeling, almost surreal hitting those big PR’s, at least for me. I stand back and look at the weights and go, Holy Shit, I just lifted that!

My numbers aren’t big for T-Nation, either, but I lift for ME, not T-Nationers :wink:

On another note, do you load the bar with ride, crash, and splash cymbals?

Great effort. You didn’t just walk away. You came back not once but twice more and it was just for you alone. Doesn’t matter it didn’t go up this time. It will. And screw T-Nation standards. You’ve got your own.

dude the same thing happened to me like a few months ago and i tried it again with 315 last week and i got it almost to lockout except my hips gave out so i still didnt get it all the way up. im in the same boat as you and yea 315 is a heavy ass weight if you just got used to 225. keep up on the good work, me and u are ganna catch that number dude!!!

Thanks guys, it’s been 5 days and I still fell that workout! I should add that after that lift, I was still able to finish my workout. I was quite pleased because I’ve just come off this 30 day crazy cutting diet, and my energy has been down. Deadlifts came third in my workout, then I did 5x6 chinups and two arm bent d.b. rows with 60’s…Really time to crank it up I think, reading posts and comments has got me fired up to do the same with front squats and bench. But really? I just wanna pull that dam thing off the ground again!

P.S. thought of your avatar hel320 watching the olympic trials the other day. I had just been on here ready some stuff. Our boys looked pretty good. Take care all.
