Hi
how it is possible that my deadlift is a lot heavier than my squat?
my deadlift is 210-220 lbs and my squat is 150
Leverages is the biggest one. And for your strength development that’s not really that large of a difference or that uncommon. Don’t worry about it. I’ve pulled 380 on a deadlift with a 335 squat at the time. Actually, it’s very likely the two lifts aren’t going to be the same
Yes, this is the case with most non-elite lifters. Keep squatting, and when you feel like you squatted enough, get a drink name squat some more.
I deadlifted 345 when I was squatting below 225lb.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with a big difference between your squat and deadlift numbers.
My Deadlift is 100lbs heavier than my Squat unless I wrap my knees in which case they are identical lol.
First off I am a competitve cyclist. I have pulled 445, squated 375 and benched 245 for a 1065@198. Also, I have a 4 inch ape index. This means my arms are tip to tip 4" longer that I am tall. This helps with the pull, but sucks salty balls for the bench ! Also, I have a 34" inseam, so I am Leverage compromised in the squat.
So, where you are is really not that far off !

Obviously not your average bike boy are you?! If you haven’t figured it out by now and you want to stay competitive, serve one master. Take what ever you can get from your lifting until it impairs your cycling. Don’t forget, the more muscle you have, the more you have to get O2 to.
I applaud your efforts to do both but keep in mind most guys here are not over do’ers in the cardio department.
For the record, when I competed my DL was around 92-95 of my squat in full gear.
What’s cardio??? Hahaha I’m playing I know what sex is

do you prefer HIIT sex or LISS sex?
The deadlift uses more muscles. That’s why your DL should always outclass your squat. Absolutely nothing wrong here. Move on.
Unless you are quarter squatting high-bar. But then, that isn’t a “real” squat. And you aren’t doing that, are you? Right?
There is def nothing wrong with his situation… But, your reasons your advice or take on the why the Deadlift is USUALLY not always higher than the squat is pretty sad.

Tell that to the world-class powerlifters.

Which ones in particular are you referring to?

Slightly off topic, but have you noticed that the USPA Standards for the 198 and 220 RAW division are the same for squat and dead; and that past those divisions, 242 and up, the squat is higher? Why is that, just out of curiosity?

If that question is explicitly to me, I have no idea. I honestly think raw standards in general are kind of silly.
That said, I think USPA is just raw. RAW would be for 100% RAW only as far as I’m aware.

I think it’s only fair that males engage in marriage once they are unable to get it up.

Yeah, you are correct on the raw vs RAW. And it was to you initially but meant for anyone to chime in.
Edit: and it was actually less about the standards themselves and more about the general trend that seems to hold true that the bigger someone gets the more the squat performance seems to resemble and then surpass the deadlift.

The most significant thing I can think of is the fact that increased abdominal surface area is a blessing in the squat while a detriment in the deadlift. When you start getting really big, you’re going to traditionally be able to squat more and deadlift less. That said, guys like Bolton and Benni can still pull plenty big with a big midsection.
