Deadlift 300lbsx5, 13 years old

HELL YEAH!! good stuff CROW-ster. As a dad myself I get jazzed when I see the kids putting in work. Keep up the coaching man and tell Henry GREAT WORK.

Nice, but the video seems… odd it is almost like the video is being repeated or cuts out at parts.

Thanks man. In the same session he also back squatted 205x5, then benched 135x5 and 150x1, all PR’s. He is slowly to put same adults in our gym to shame. His progress amazes me.

What type of routine does he do?

I myself am 13 years old, and his bench and deadlift is stronger than mine. Although I have him beat in the squat. What weight class does he compete in.

Henry trains three days a week. We basically use one day to do the three powerlifts plus lats. As far as sets and reps, we do a 5RM day, 3 RM day, and 1RM day, then start over. He usually PR’s every session so using a percentage based system would be useless. One day a week we front squat to 3,2, or 1RM, then snatch to a max, and clean & jerk to a max. The third day we do supplemental lifts for both OL and PL, i.e. RDL, incline press, OHS, etc. Henry also does a “crossfit-like” class two days a week. He has competed in two powerlifting meets already and wants to do an OL meet in November. Although he wants to do strongman the most when he gets older.

How tall is he looking to get?

CS

This kid’s unreal, keep it up by 14 he’ll be kicking my ass

Off topic…but the kid has a great chance to be a STUD OL/DL/LB

He plays center for his midget football team right now. He is 5’7" and 210. His uncle is 6’5", his mom and aunt are both 5’9".

I promise you the video is legit. His form is solid, I makes every rep look the same.

Is he wearing straps?

If not, that is probably what I find the most impressive. Surprised he has the grip strength.

Well done all round either way.

No straps.

I know it is legit. I am sorry about that, I was tired when posting. I am going to have to starting training harder, or he’ll be beating my 5RM on my clean grip deadlift.

Maybe a 6’5" 275 left tackle…

Wow, that is enormous for midget football. Weight limit here for the 12-13 year olds is 148.

Nice lifting. Wish I had a coach at that age.

In Northern California, midget cutoff is 190, yet they allow 3 “X-Men” with a limit at 225. The X-Men can only play within the tackle box, can’t advance the ball, and only one a play at a time.

Skeptical is skeptical. Looks like 5x1 instead of 1x5.
