Davies' renegade training

For the indivials who tryed it so far, can you answer me a few questions? what were your goals for the program, type of diet and supplement used, and how were your results?

After my first four weeks of Renegade training, I had to take a break because my joints hurt so badly and I felt way overtrained. I started up again a few weeks ago when the workouts went to three days a week. If you want to see my current Renegade Training routine, just go to my web site and send me some email. I’ll send over my current routine. I have to say that it’s working very well for me now. I feel great, I’m getting a bit leaner, stronger and I feel so much faster, but I have not tested myself yet. I did lose maximal strength in some key lifts, but I’m addressing that now on my current routine.

As for diet, it’s pretty simple. I eat a lot of meat (beef 4-5 times a week, chicken, fish) and plenty of fruits, veggies, yogurt and cottage cheese. I rarely eat white bread, pasta or rice. Ever since I started using Surge after all my workouts, I’ve noticed improved recovery, more energy and an overall sense of well-being. Originally, I only used Surge after my weight training days. Now, I also use it on my “active rest” days, and that has been the key to my recent success.

I am into my fourth week of the Combative Training program. So far I have experienced no joint problems/injuries, etc. Although the workouts range from 1.5 to 2 hours, I am usually never sore because A) my body is conditioned now and B) GPP is great for recovery. Appearance/Diet: The first 3 weeks I was on a bulking diet … saw mass gains in shoulders/chest, legs, etc., but now I decided to cut a bit and in one week my abs are really beginning to peak out. As for overall strength, I’m not sure. Haven’t tested. But my speed/explosiveness in incredible … and I can run circles around just about anyone.

I’ve been using Renegade training principles for the past several weeks, as well as the occasional Crossfit workout and grappling, and am pleased with the results.

My work capacity has risen dramatically, though I haven’t tested my 1RMs. One of the nicest surprises was almost immediate progress in oly/power lifts, especially C & J, snatches, and split jerks, which is probably due to better explosiveness and a stronger open chain (glutes, hams, back, hip flexors).

I started Renegade training (Combative training) to enhance my grappling/fighting fitness as well as overall athleticism and speed. After a recent track session, I recorded significant gains in 100m & 250m sprints and better vertical jumps. Less objectively, the jump roping has increased my foot speed and decreased recovery time on the mat. My grip strength has improved greatly.

My diet is heavily weighted to protein (shakes, bars, chicken, fish, and beef) with vegetables and fruit. I don’t take supplements but will be using L-Glutamine in the near future to aid in recovery (since I’m not as young as I used to be).

I hope this helped.

1st Goals: As a Mixed Martial Artist the goal was to increased my abilities especially on the mat -Accomplished and still increasing. My wife used it for training for the Ms. Galaxy Deciding 5 weeks prior to the competition and competition against 100 girls and many veterans she placed 4th in the obstacle course, Pretty good for not having a course to practice on. Oh and me and my son 11 competed in our divisions finishing top 5 also. As far as supps Surge is incredible and probably a must for any Renegade and Glutamine.
