Umm…he wasn’t asking what you were currently eating. He was telling you to stop eating what you are eating.

Hi Darin1, delete this thread, save the photos for your “before” shots, then start a Training Log. Tell us what you’re doing.

I don’t know what’s in those shakes, but unless they’re low-carb I would only use them after training. Ditch the noodles and swap it with vegetables (lots) and fruit (not lots).

Remember the kick up the arse and come back proving us wrong.

You’re Australian, and yet your avatar…

Hell, if Lance Armstrong added a hundred pounds of muscle he could stand next to Ronnie on stage.

To the OP, you BP 220 but MP 115? And judging by the way youre languidly lifting that weight, youre NOT generating intensity in your damn workouts. I see no hip drive, no flexing in the upper back and lower back area as you struggle to stabilize the weight. The weight should rise quickly from clavice to the midpoint where you triceps begin to accept the load etc…you need to push yourself more.

And I’d wager its not your diet/carbs thats doing you in! At 17, your metabolism and hormones would have prevented you from gaining that much chub 9and helped you mass up much harder) IF you couldve trained harder. thats all I;m saying. Use platemates, bands, whatever to keep getting stronger. Get off the couch in your spare time and go play something. Take a walk once in a while and/or shoot some hoops.

And get a damn training partner or work out in the gym next to someone who can give you pointers.

I see you don’t just get high on your mountian bike.

I had actually edited the post and decided to ask him what he was eating, the edit seemed to have been unedited afterward tough

dinner = ? …

By the way, I think everyone expressed this already but I think your MAIN GOAL and PRIORITY right now should be to cut off your fat before thinking muscle and strenght

Oh, Gotchya.

Train harder, in the gym and on the field.

that Front press post, was a warm up into my program because I haven’t front pressed in awhile… I will go harder next time Promise
ill record it as well if needed…with my shirt on.haha…

as for the food I will post what every fat/carb/protein is on a normal day

Well last summer I went from 240 to 205lbs, and now I am at a phase at where I rather be stronger and build more muscle

You can build more muscle and lose a shitload of fat in the process. Fat does not help you move weight or perform better for strongman, a sport, or climbing an evergreen.

Just clean up your diet of all shit. Stop putting crap in your mouth that doesn’t belong there and you’ll feel better and better. You don’t necessarily have to quit building muscle. You can lose fat and build muscle just by …

cleaning up your diet.

as for the shakes, 40g whey protein, not sure the calories or carbs will come back soon

40g of whey should be around 200-250cal

i gotta give it to this kid- i’ve never seen someone get blasted like this and take it so well. props for hanging in there op

It doesnt seem like you really need 40g of protein in one sitting, I take that much in a post workout drink. Sitting around and drinking protein isnt gonna build muscle, you have to lift with it. Seriously, it seems like most of your diet is just liquid shakes, which doesnt help a lot when you’re a bit flabby.

agreed, too many “liquid” meals.

+whey is absorbed really fast… meaning if you wait more than 2-3hours to eat again you…fail :frowning:

Hey, you know we claim anything awesome that comes out of NZ.

“New Zealand - there for the taking”

after a shake, how long should I eat after it( if I eat a banana or peanuts with it, won’t it slow the absorption)

the only thing that was really harsh was the picture that said fatty, but yeah, what doesn’t hurt you makes you stronger

ALSO! once again, you can come flame me here to I guess,http://www.T-Nation.com/tmagnum/readTopic.do?id=2288485&pageNo=1#2326576

updated every workout day, read through the whole thing, before you start making fun please

Fast absorption is only good after training. The rest of the time a slower release offers benefits.

well instead of drinking shakes, especially whey, look into casein protein, its exactly what you need. And if you can’t dish out the money, buying a carton of cottage cheese works just as well. Im really not sure if you can slow down absorption by eating peanuts or bananas with it.
