im starting to cycle to work most days… its 9.2 miles from mine to work. pretty windey roads and lots of short inclines followed by short declines. anyone reccommend a decent time to aim for? and also how many calories will it likely burn?
ive been reading that before cardio you should take a protein shake to stop muscle loss…??

9.2 miles should take you no more then an hour, you can probably do it in under 45 minutes without to much effort, and if you really bust, under 30. Not sure how many calories you’ll burn, but a protein shake 30 minutes or so before you head out certainly won’t hurt.
cheers fot the feedback. i was thinking of aiming 45 mins and making sure i got under 1 hour. ill be doing it twice obviously like onece there and once back. so i want to make sure both times are very similiar and try to improve every single day. i should be doing it roughly 3-4 times a week.
Try for 1 hour on day one then reduce by 30 seconds every day until you cannot beat your time. Then try and beat your time.
i didnt factor in that on the way there its all 1 massive climb. took me 1 hour 4 mins!
35 mins coming home! :S
