I first saw Toney at the 2007 Mr. Olympia. He was immediately one of my favorites. Tremendous physique, complimented by his height. I think he didn’t place higher on account of his tallness, but from what it looks like, he has filled out significantly since then, which is incredible.
@ him being 40. It just goes to show that professional bodybuilding is a very slow sport. It takes so many years of dedicated training to look even a tenth as good as the average competitor. But, I guess that is part of the appeal.

And this makes us rethink what are the real growth years. But then, it’s probable that pro bodybuilders have a wider time lapse where they can perpetuate muscle gains. Vince taylor comes to mind.

I think Flex Wheeler mentioned that he is in the low 280’s on last night’s MD Radio show. Toney has been sending Flex some pics every week.
Hes absolutely amazing, you can clearly see why they call him the X-Man. I still think his chest hurts his placing alot. I can’t see how he can’t be marked down during these poses.
Do you think Toney and the other up and comers are able to keep their waists so tight because they haven’t been messing around with insulin and/or massive amounts of GH, or are there other reasons? I know he mentioned that he is still around because he didn’t go the extreme lengths that his contemporaries did to achieve size.
I’ve seen vids of Ronnie where his waist is super tiny then seemingly all at once his waist and the rest of him blew up and he started winning the Olympia’s.

People keep talking about this…but it isn’t that noticeable since everything else pops out at you.
I think if people on internet forums would quit bringing it up over and over, most would completely ignore it.[/quote]
I find that most people do seem to ignore or not even bring it up as a factor. I wonder if this is because he hasn’t one the Arnold or O yet. From a completely objective stand point (because I feel the rest of his physique is incredible) his chest should mark him down. Its only fair to other competitors with out injuries.
For example, He SHOULD HAVE place higher than Wolf last year at the O. I wonder if this is due to his injury.
