Current Toney Freeman Progress

well he’s successfully brought his arms and shoulders up!

thanks for the pics X.

Honestly, the guy looks like a Cartoon character! (that’s a good thing -lol)

Gonna be one hell of a show this year!!!

S

Bummer.

Know of any bodybuilding boards that don’t hate bodybuilding?
Try md or rxmuscle.

compared to last year’s Arnold, his arms are worlds bigger, shoulders are incredible, calves look nuts, and waiste looks like what most highschool girls yearn for (good thing). I really want him to take it, but Vic will probably get the win, hope not though, going for the X man!

He really has improved drastically compared to a few years ago. That X-frame is sick. Whats crazy is how tight his waist is.

Palumbo’s system seems to work well for him. He looked good in '07 until the Olympia where he looked bad then on his own at the '08 Ironman he looked terrible but he hooked back up with Dave and by the Olympia he looked awesome. I think it all comes down to his contest prep. He either looks really good or really bad, it seems like he’s never just off a little. I think he has gotten his waist down under 30" at times too.

Damn!
I keep going back to look at the pics… hoping that there’s some revelation or something.
Freeman may end up my new favorite BBer.

as good as freeman looks i think kai has him beat but thats just me

I have looked at these pictures a few times in the last two days.

The shoulders in the first picture compared to that waist, incredible. Then in the side pose his shoulders look “normal” but then the legs…

While I appreciate everything about Ronnie, I’m also glad the big belly days are almost over. Good stuff.

I just saw these pics and promptly ate a hamburger.

Then I looked at the pics again.

Then I looked at my shoulders.

Then I looked at the pics again.

Then I cried like a little girl.

For the record, I just don’t feel the same camaraderie on this site that I used to. I don’t even see any of the bigger guys who used to come here posting anymore. Instead, I get to argue with little guys who haven’t even built their arms past 15" as they tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about.

That means “lack of interest” is why I haven’t been here as much. This is a bodybuilding board that hates bodybuilding.
I want to add that (although I don’t consider myself “one of the bigger guys” here) I left for quite a while because of the BS I read here every day.

Honestly, it didn’t do much for my motivation to lift either but that’s my own fault really.

But like always, there are hardcore guys like Prof. X who are able to bring me back and renew my motivation to grow and renew my faith in mankind!

Not to mention, Toney and I being the same 6’-2" which along with his size brings back the butterflies and the urge to pound the weights (sound gay enough for ya?).

I mean you, dumbass! I haven’t seen you in like a week…

Disclaimer: Calling Prof X a dumbass in real-time may have the unpleasant side effect of getting you fucking flattened. That is all… ; )

Oh, and Freeman looks absolutely fucking sick! Massive size and no pregnant gut = AWESOME!!!

thats true man, but I’m liking these posts of yours as of late. I think there is a very minute group here that still likes bodybuilding.

I think a lot of it stems from the Godfathers of the site. It is not ‘hardcore’ anymore but went soft and all ‘fitnessy’

When the leaders of the pack do something the grunts follow…then you have those of us who DGAF and just do what we please anyways.

Freeman looks sick tho!

Even though its not quite what you guys want you have to admitt lately there has been more of a bb atmosphere. I mean 2 years ago I wasnt here but from what i heard if you put pics up like this x people were not going to comment about how amazing freeman looks you know?

Does Freeman still work out with really light weights? Sure doesn’t look like it, but I guess that’s kind of the point.

What is “light weights”?

I am only asking that question because on some exercises, I have dropped the weight a little in order to squeeze the top contraction more…but even though the weight may be a little lighter, it is still more than most people I ever see lifting.

Muscles that big don’t get built with truly “light weights”. Even if many of these guys use a lighter weight in training, it is pretty much a given that they can actually lift more than that but don’t in order to concentrate on some other aspect of the movement itself.

He had some videos up a while back (pulled from youtube, I just looked) of him doing preacher curls with 10 lb dumbbells and stuff like that. He said he didn’t really start growing until he started using lighter weights.

Tony is the man. Probably my favorite current bodybuilder. His v-taper is amazing.

You need to take things within context. Like I said, especially on biceps movement, I now go a little lighter in order to squeeze the contraction. That doesn’t mean that I can’t still curl a lot of weight. It took me being strong enough to handle a shit load of weight to get the same benefit from going a little lighter.

Also, at his size, there isn’t shit he was getting out of a 10lbs dumbbell but a warm up. Muscles that big aren’t weak.

No, he specifically said that he’d stopped lifting heavy weights to lift lighter weights and focus on the contraction.

I wish the videos were still up so I could just point you to them, but they are gone.

I thought I was typing clearly. He had to be able to lift the heavy weights to get anything out of now using a lighter weight for the same movement yet focusing more on the contraction…and again, there is no way in hell someone that big is getting much out of a 10lbs dumbbell curl no matter what he says.

One thing I think some of you miss is that many of these guys will leave things out when discussing their own training. They do this so people won’t learn their “secrets”…as benign as those “secrets” are. They’ve been doing that since Arnold.

Dexter Jackson claimed he ate pizza right before a show in one of his videos. He then laughed.
