cancer? What kind of cancer do they suspect? When did this come up?

Whoa! Crew, I’m gone for a month and you’re squatting 400 now? NICE!

And cancer, what the hell? Expect an email from me.

I may be the Lance Armstrong of powerlifting

This came up last week. Results should be in today as to what the hell the lump actually is.

Well the 400 was in a squat suit. That was my first time in one and it was too big on me. I need to get the straps taken in about an inch.

So no cancer! I have a messed up vein and a small tumor which should go away with the medicine. If the vein still hurts than further treatment will be needed but we shall see on that one.

I’ve read for your log from time to time, and your doing an awesome job.

I just wanted to say I’m happy for you that it’s not…‘that’.

Congratz on that info brother.

Thanks man! Haha it’s a weight off my shoulders.

Hopefully this log will get a little more exciting as I have a meet coming up (Oct. 11th)

So update time:

I SUCK in a bench shirt. I’m having to tuck my elbows more, bring the bar further towards to stomach, ect.

I made my closed back shirt into an open back and I’m just getting used to where the neck line needs to be on it. I had the neck line down too far 2 days ago and I couldn’t get the bar to touch to save my life. Then a moved it up and I was able to blow up 225. So really it’s just getting used to the thing.

I’m benching 2x a week to hopefully get used to it by meet time. If I don’t I don’t really care. This meet in my mind is all about the squat and deadlift, I can focus on my bench after the meet.

Oh as a side note, a bench shirt hurts like hell.

Worked up to 405 on squats yesterday.

Not bad since it still feels like someone has kicked me in the nuts 24/7.

CP, nice job on the squats. And glad you don’t have cancer. Even the thought of cancer at a young age I’m sure was stressful for you.

Keep on keepin on.

Thanks man! Haha yea it had me stressed for a bit there.

Pulled 460 yesterday.

Kinda surprised me as I felt weak all morning and 315 felt heavy.

Well I’m at my heaviest that I have been right now, although I don’t exactly have “abs” lol but whatever. Dieting down when I went to the beach killed my lifts so lately I have been just trying to get my weight up.

My diet lately usually goes about like this:

Breakfast:
-100gram protein shake: 2 scoops protein, egg whites, and carb countdown milk
-Egg white/turkey sausage muffin

Snack:
-2 powerPB sandwiches and a protein shake

Lunch:
-Lean Meat
-Rice
-Veggies

Snack:
-Oatmeal
-Protein Shake

Pre-workout:
-Caffeine drink of sorts
-Sometimes a few mini donuts
-BCAA’s

Post-workout:
-SURGE Recovery
-Creatine

Dinner:
-Meat and rice

Before Bed:
-Shake

The plan is for after this meet to go up to 220.

Did some bicep, abs, and calves last night.

There is another “powerlifting” meet in oct (oct 25th to be exact) that I am thinking about doing for fun. This one is a combined score of overhead press, deadlift, and strict curl. Haha how odd is that?

So this morning I went to put my lunch in the fridge at work and all of a sudden I got this insane pain in my knee! It hurts to bend it right not but if I try and squat the pain is unreal.

Hopefully this goes away quickly and is a pinched nerve or something. My knee looks normal and nothing is moving around funny there so I have no idea what this is. Go figure it happens on squat day lol.

So luckily I work in a factory and we have a nurse on staff. She just wrapped my knee with some ice. It’s odd in that if I put pressure on both side of my knee it doesn’t hurt and I can squat just fine. However if I don’t put pressure on the sides I can’t even get out of my chair…very odd.

Haha I’ll just keep my knee wrapped for all of sets of squats tonight.

Is this the one at Core 24 in Seneca? Thats the one Detazathoth and I are doing but last time I checked it was a full meet.

CP congrats on the squat PR. Also, glad to hear everything else is ok. (aka- no cancer!!!)

How’d your training progress the last 2 months? As someone else mentioned, I read your log in late July then BAM you hit 405! What was your max back then? …and how do the suit and wraps feel vs without anything?

I ask because my squat (for reps @315) is higher than yours was in July, but I’m pretty sure I can’t hit 405 at the moment. Though I don’t use a suit, wraps, or a belt, if I could hit 405 in 6-8 weeks (like you did) I’d be quite happy

Hey man I don’t have time to reply at the moment (up in Detroit on business right now) but wanted to say I saw your question and will answer it in full on Monday.

Basic answer is great pop out of the hole.
