CP, I didn’t know you had a post-PC log going on. Totally my bad, I’m a clown
Looks like things are going well, getting stronger. Keep on keepin on.
Look forward to reading your thread.
Haha it’s all good man, thanks for finding it now! I would say the only really interesting thing you missed was my 43 rep deadlift day hahaha. Check out those couple of posts and you’ll be all caught up!
How do you setup for your weekly program? i see you have a LOT of variety in each set day.
Haha I promise there is a method to the madness!
The first few weeks were conditioning training. Lots of volume. Then we did a deload week. Now we are doing more sets of 5 reps which is getting us to heavier weight but still lots of sets to help build muscle. The next stage is sets of 3 and then when we get close to the meets, working on heavy singles.
We also alternate how heavy we go on exercises. If say I go all out for 3-5 reps on deadlifts than I’ll have an easier week on squat. If I go easier on deads than we crank it up on bench and squat.
Next week since I’ll be in Chicago for business sun, mon, tue we plan to max me out on bench on thur and then max me out on deads on sunday. Next sunday I’ll be able to use a deadlift bar at the SC UPA state chairs house so that’s why I’ll be working out on sunday.
The format for every week is as follows:
Mon- Deadlift
Tue- Bench
Wed- Off
Thur- Squat
Fri- active recovery (high reps) and assistance lifts (abs, low back, shoulders, ect)
Sat/Sun- Off
1x15xbar
5x5-10x135 (workout partner got their late so hence the extra sets with lower reps. I just wanted to stay warm)
2x5x185
2x5x225
5x5x255
1x5x245
1x5x235
1x6x225
Leg Extensions:
3x10x100lbs
Toes in
Toes out
Toes straight
Tomorrows workout will prob. suck but we shall see! Haha I have an interview this afternoon, should be interesting. Hopefully I don’t fall asleep in it!
Oh found out I’m going to be an uncle yesterday in the midst of my flight be canceled. Exciting stuff!

CP, I just read up on it, holy cow!!! Glad you are ok, and didn’t have to go to the hospital. Sometimes you gotta have those kind of days to test yourself, nice work bro!!

Haha thanks man! Looking back that was a pretty funny day.
Sooo life is throwing me some punches at the moment. My lifts have been sucking royal ass lately but I can only think that it’s from all the stress.
Work sucks ass right now. Early mornings, late nights, and corporate says I’ve earned a promotion but my site manager (after asking me my age!!!) says it’s too early for me to have that promotion. Ummmm age discrimination anyone? Either way I’m not that big of a bitch to bring that up but it pisses me off! Go figure I get punished for finishing my program early with great reviews…
Yeah there’s more to tell BUT I have to go to a meeting now. Go figure.

If corporate believes you deserve a promotion but your manager doesn’t because of age, it’s time for you to start looking for a new career choice. Age has nothing to do with performance. Just something to think about.

Corporate > manager, therefore you deserve the promotion. Is it possible to talk to your manager’s manager, or someone in corporate about this issue? That is definitely age discrimination.
And who is to say later on down the road when you are “old enough” that you will even get the promotion? Your manager might make up a new excuse.
Time to look for something new. Value the time and experience you have earned and move on.
well guys i decided to stay where I am. I got a pay raise out of them so good enough for now. I’ll get my promotion when I finish the training courses that were part of my program but I never finished because I got pulled early from it. So less than 6months and I’ll have it (courses are already planned out).
I’ve worked 40 hours in the past 3 days sooo yea no training as I get out of work after the gym closes! This is our busy time and things will settle down in another week.
Working out tomorrow and Sunday, I guess for 2 weeks I’ll be one of those “weekend” guys. Oh and weight is still down thanks to stress and business travels. Working on that though as I have been cooking all my meals and planning ahead for the past week.
Sorry for not updating much but my career is taking the lead for 2 weeks.
So my training as taken a back seat to work for the last couple of weeks, but I guess that’s just a part of life.
I did have a good leg workout, doing 315 for 2 reps ATG. I was happy with that one.
Lately the stress has been too much to try and push heavy weight. I worked out on Tue for bench and couldn’t go very heavy so I did high rep work. Hopefully before the week is done I can get in a deadlift workout.
My manager told me that next week will be back to normal so hopefully training will be as well. I’ll be 8 weeks out next week so just in time to push some heavy weight!
So I just found out that the UPA no longer allows knee wraps for the raw devision…which puts me in a tight spot. I have been training with them and they really help my weak point which it out of the hole as I have really long legs.
Looks like I may just jump into the geared devision. I wont win any shiny new medals but hell I’m just doing this for myself anyway. I have 2 months until the meet so I am debating on buying some gear. Either way I’ll be wearing knee wraps and most likely some briefs since I’m gonna be in the geared group anywho.
Did a push/pull workout on Sunday. Getting used to my new bench shirt, hurts like hell
Just did a few reps with 225 for my first go around with it. I’m having to tuck my elbows more and put the bar closer to my stomach despite Metal saying it’s a bench shirt meant for a bodybuilding type bench (elbows flared and high groove).
Had my ultrasound done…that was NOT fun. It was painful. Oh well.
