Offered $180,000 in scholarship funds from Northwestern University Law—that was the last one I was waiting on. I just withdrew and put down my deposit at UVA, though. Comparable tuition after the scholarships, cheaper town, better outcomes (especially in the sorts of work I want to do), and a better location (two hours from home as opposed to eleven).

I may try and defer my acceptance + scholarship so that I can chill in Tuscaloosa for another year and get an MA with my last year of UA scholarship funding, but that’s still up in the air.

March Madness is cool.

Swapping out bench for push press—that’s something I’ve never really practiced, so I should have a long runway for it. And as my chest/tricep exercises start to hit failure, I can start rest-pausing some bench variations to keep it in the program one way or another.

First time I’ve handled that squat weight in some time now, and it felt solid. I think from here I’m going to increase squats by only 5Lbs per jump—375x5 will match my PR when I get to it, and I want to make sure I smoke it when I get there.

Replacing power shrugs with normal shrugs, or maybe something like Kelso shrugs in a smith machine.

Someone walked right in front of me midway through my top set of squats, which threw me off pretty bad. I still finished the set, but I may have been short on depth for the last two reps. I’m going to repeat this weight, because of that. I think that may just be the solution in general as my squat and press get heavy—repeat weights liberally, get comfortable with them, autoregulate progression, and use the DC work to actually build myself up.
