Creatine - New user

I’ve been told creatine’s bad for new-lifters. Any truth here? I’ve been lifting for about two months now and was thinking about starting using creatine. What do you guys say about it?

Creatine is OK. Buy a quality product and follow directions. Although the latest research says that cramps are not a common side effect…drink plenty of water. I always seem to pull muscles when on Creatine. I do quite a bit of running.

I would hold off for a while. Lift for a few years before you take creatine…by the way, it didn’t do much for me. Unless you’re a vegetarian, I’ll bet you’re not going to see any earth shattering results.

I’m gonna disagree. If your receptive to creatine(as most are)it will help your recovery and improve your performance pretty quickly. Take 5 grams 4 times a day for 7 days, then to maintain take 5-10 grams mixed in grape juice immediately after your workout. I bet you’ll be pretty psyched at the results. Good Luck!

when I first started lifting, I only supplemented my diet with protein for the first 2 or 3 months. Then I began using creatine(the gnc brand) and gained 28 lbs in 3 months. I don’t think yhis is typical because I had previosly lost 20 lbs because of cocaine before I started lifting. Lesson= don’t do coke! and creatine can definatley work but drink a gallon of water a day and eat right.
