I’m a 20 year old college student and I heard that its not good to mix creatine and alcohol. Is there any truth to that statement?
I really don’t know what I am talking about but the way I see it, alcohol dehydrates the body and creatine creates a need for more water so combining the two doesn’t sound good.
I drink and I get the benefits of using Creatine? I guess nothing “mixes” optimally with alchohol? Antibiotics, aspirin, recreational drugs, etc… Go ahead and drink bro.
not mixing creatine and booze is bull. i consume creatine and have no problem getting wasted every night. later.
Here’s my 2 cents: Alcohol ruins just about everything you can do in a weightroom,decreases Testosterone bigtime, increases fat storage, etc, etc…If you have any serious goals in the weightroom you have to knock out the booze. The way I see it, creatine shouldn’t even be an issue. If you are drinking, I wouldn’t waste the money on supplements. When it comes down to it, it’s not good to mix alcohol with anything, especailly strength & conditioning.

I really don’t know if alcohol affects it or not provided you’re adequately hydrated and I don’t know of any research combining the effects of alcohol comsumption on creatine absorption. However, I always take a little vacation from the bottle when on a cycle of creatine. No sense making expensive piss. But at the same time, if you’re only drinking once/week or every other week, I can’t see a problem as the length of creatine’s washout period would allow you to resume supplementationa and get rehydrated without compromising cell saturation.
