Fentanyl can be used therapeutically for pain management… and within that therapeutic window someone could abuse it in modest, pain relieving dosages to get high
Cocaine has almost been phased out in medical practice because it had a tendency to induce arrhythmia in low dosages.
On a mg/mg basis fentanyl is more dangerous… however I’d rather slap on a low dose fentanyl patch as opposed to snorting a line any day of the week
Methamphetamine is more dangerous… when we refer to crystal meth… however FDA approved 5mg methamphetamine tablets used to treat ADHD? A (small) line of coke is arguably still more dangerous than one of those tablets.
Cocaine is far more damaging than most give it credit to be. Many think of it to be ‘weekend fun’ but tossing aside how habit forming it is for many it tends to be one of the most damaging drugs one can take… and for what? Thirty minutes of inflated egos followed by what seems to be an awful crash that can only be mitigated by taking more… and more… and more…
Ketamine is also quite toxic when used recreationally, but once again many teenagers seem to view it as being harmless… also one of the few of which when regularly abused will probably fuck up your physical health quicker than alcohol will.
I was given it after surgery once. I just had sinus surgery and they coated the area with cocaine, apparently. It burned unbelievably bad. They kept asking if I was in pain and kept shooting me up with duidad and asking me if that helped. I kept saying no. They finally asked me what it feels like and I said it was burning really really bad. And they responded, “Oh, that must be the cocaine.” No, they weren’t joking I asked.
Part of my job is working with Medical Review Officers who contact people who test non-negative on drug screens to see if they have prescriptions. The cocaine on the facial laceration is basically the ONLY medical use for cocaine in the U.S.
My memory of that was a few TV shows, like Magnum PI, and Quincy M.E had someone’s cause of death as heart failure due to cocaine use. Other episodes from memory included death from heroin hotshots, and botulism. Both great TV shows from the 80’s. Cocaine induced heart attacks never made it into mainstream news as a pandemic.
Hell even Maradona, soccer god, and prodigious cocaine user survived the 80’s cocaine snowstorm. He did die from heart failure, at the age of 60 though. I don’t know whether covid was involved, but he had lung congestion at the same time as a comorbidity. I don’t think there was any mention cocaine in his system, but you never know, old habits die hard.
Ex-friend of mine went to Aus for his degree and spent all the tuition money his mother was sending him on meth lol. I have no idea if I have tried it. We had access to some funny combinations of drugs here during my teen years and I hypothetically did some of them for fun and I can see how shit like this can be really addictive.
What I don’t get is Ketamine. Why do people like this drug? I was given a big shot of it (checked the amount in the bill later) when I woke up after a simple tonsil removal surgery and the doctor asked me how much pain I was in on a scale of 1-10. All I said was 6. It lasted about 20-30mins IIRC and I hated every minute I was “high”.
Haha is that so? Maybe I react differently just like alcohol has no effect on me when it comes to any kind euphoria so I don’t drink at all unless I have to. I get how benzos accomplish this but K? I was still completely aware of everything around me although it felt like my body was completely separate from my mind so the pain didn’t register. It was like “someone else’s” pain. That’s the only way I know to describe it.

IIRC they may have also used it on me as an anaesthetic too during the operation but that would require a shitload of K if you wanna go date rape a chick.
Anything that induces sedation, amnesia and paralysis can be used as a date rape drug. Repeatedly topping up someone’s drink without them being aware of it is the most common form of date rape.
Not sure why rohypnol in particular has been implicated… the same thing could be done with alazopram or diazepam…
Imo anyone who does this should be charged with more than attempted rape. A benzodiazepine + alcohol combo can be lethal.

Because rohypnol, while similar in structure and in the class of benzo’s as the others are, it’s way stronger and it’s mind erasing effects are much more. It’s like the difference between codeine and heroine. Same class, but herione is much stronger.
Interesting side note, In the U.S. the pain killer of choice in hospitals and extreme situations is dilaudid which is hydro-morphone. I heard in the UK, they use heroine. Of course it’s not called heroine, it’s diamorphine.
So if you get shot, lose a leg, or some other severe injury, it may be better in the UK. At least you fly higher…

I don’t know much about these drugs, all a bit too creepy for my liking. My knowledge comes from A Current Affair, horror stories. Maybe its something to do with delivery system and how easily it can be slipped into a drink without the victim noticing the taste?
From video footage it turns out most of the perpetrators aren’t hideous looking guys that couldn’t pull a relatively attractive woman via acceptable methods. Just cheap and lazy.
I guess a good psychologist could offer a better explanation, no doubt something to do with power, rather than just sexual satisfaction.
