COVID-19 Vaccine Side Effects

Lmao that is a relief. I don’t think it lasted more than 13 hours…

The problem with that way of thinking is the politicians, medical bureaucrats, the media and your neighbors that drive in their cars alone with two masks on are all telling you to live in fear

Now the ceo of Pfizer is coming out and telling everyone you will need a 4th shot

Over reaction to the omicron is a perfect example of this

When they named the new variant OminousCron, I knew the pandemic is over.

Only half-kidding.

If we assume the premise of your question: The problem with listening to experts is they seem very concerned?

So, you’re suggesting there’s a conspiracy?

Not very concerned, overly concerned. This would not be a problem on its’ own, but when politicians and media thrive on fear, and the medical community is being overly concerned, it becomes a problem.

Even Bernie Sanders is mad at these companies for making money off this, but that being said - Bernie Sanders is mad when anyone makes money that isn’t him so maybe not the best argument :man_shrugging:

You suggested it, I was just stating the fact

Like the other poster said, overly concerned and instigating fear

For those who get the flu vaccine, a new shot is required every year. Why would 'da Covid be any different?

The first story never should have come out, considering it was virtually nullified within a week - by himself.

The flu shot is a different compound almost every year, and it it not required

And the doctors in south Africa were telling everyone not to panic…and Fauci and company ignored the science

Fauci has proven, from Day One, that in front of mass media, he will say whatever is necessary to “guide” the public to behave in an “appropriate” manner.

(I’m referring to his famous masks are not necessary stance in the 60 Minutes interview, a lifetime ago)

The flu was never considered a pandemic and everyone seems to want to compare covid with polio and smallpox…which there is no comparison and the vaccines eradicated polio and smallpox

(overly?) Simplistic logic tells me that with every mutation of the Covid virus, the original vaccine compounds will need to be adjusted (for lack of a more knowledgeable term) in some way as well.

Fauci has proven that he likes to be in front of the camera and dictate his authority, while wearing a mask…but off camera he takes his mask off and acts normal…that is instigating fear

Probably, but why are they still acting like the vaccine will save us all? As long as you get it 2, 3, 4 times…

As so often happens, this has devolved into a circle-jerk. I will leave y’all to it.

If by “circle jerk”, you mean a handful of people who are respectfully disagreeing with your opinions and bringing up valid points you don’t want to talk about, then sure.

You don’t realize it now, but those of us who are preaching for individual autonomy over one’s body are actually on your side.

I made a post about delta (it’s somewhere in another covid thread if you want to verify it) and how I was making major business arrangements for an incoming surge in cases, hence taking quite a bit of losses, leading to my government reintroducing preventive measures. It was around a month before the US started taking it seriously and the WHO sounding the alarm bells even though the early charts showed an exponential rise in multiple countries in South Asia so it was pretty predictable. And I used to play lots of mahjong so it’s pretty easy for me to mentally calculate exponential increases lol. The only country on the other side of the globe that was taking it seriously was the UK. Not even Israel until the surge came after their reopening and then it was back to Green Passes.

So it happened and due to the speed it was spreading, there was a much bigger cluster fuck than even during the original strain when it came to testing and quarantine since the government here normally takes it’s cues from the WHO (the “don’t wear a mask if you’re not sick” thing is still being used by anti-vaxxers to discredit any experts but China propaganda has successfully shifted the blame for this to the US CDC) and then still decided to take a top down approach while subcontracting testing to one private company and enforcement of quarantine to another without regard for the way higher R naught of delta.

Lots of small businesses, already abruptly finding themselves short of half their staff due to reactive WFH mandates allowing little time for such arrangements, also found a portion of their remaining staff needed on site in prolonged periods of quarantine due to testers and test results arriving up to several days late and the people who were supposed to take you to a quarantine facility sometimes didn’t even show up and both of these contractors would tell you to call the government department that was handling it since they were getting new instruction every other day and you had to wait for 30mins for someone to pick up the phone (EDIT: No, actually, it was the private contractor in charge of quarantine that you had to wait for. Not joking. Called them twice. Both around 30min. The automated voice on the government department line would instantly tell you that your call had been registered and someone would get back to you after waiting for 15 or 30min can’t really remember. Someone from the department called me 2 or 3 days later.). People whom I knew who didn’t play as much mahjong as me were insisting that I had insider knowledge because I started making preparations for this lol.

Any good government task force, like @EyeDentist said, should understand that you have to be proactive for things like these, not reactive, especially since you have the benefit of hindsight and an ample amount of epidemiologists and tech guys with the ability to come up with predictive models at your disposal.

The thing is, it’s not about Fauci or whoever says/said what right now. The good thing is the WHO has sounded the alarm bells early this time and so has Fauci so people have time to prepare. If Omicron is more transmissible, it will naturally replace Delta as the dominant strain and even if we don’t give a fuck about illness and death (not saying we currently don’t), the sudden changes from policies to natural behaviour of the public when they see such transmission rates will disrupt several businesses which did not have time to prepare for it and lead to needless extra losses in the economy.

At least, was. Maybe we can get more varieties each year now that we’ve seen the success of doing so with The Rona-19.
