@Frank_C I pulled an abdominal muscle pretty badly and tried to ride it out. I wanted to keep working on the more upper part of my body but he is telling me no go on that for a few weeks or so. I’ve been having pain with everything and am severely bored waiting it out lol.
I know how that goes. I’m entering week 11 of my journey and closing in on a year of the first symptoms.
If you’re on the DL for a few weeks then suck it up! If it’s going to be months then I suggest falling in love with the machines at the gym. Chest and back supported everything so you don’t have to stress those postural muscles as much.
I don’t know your doctor but I do have experience with doctors. Most of them do not share my mindset and don’t understand training like I do. I tend to talk to physical therapists about what I can and can’t do when it comes to an injury. They know the healing process and what stresses you can and can’t handle. I used to work with one and I’ll text or email him when I have questions. I also have a chiropractor who does ART (active release technique) which is basically sports massage. I ask him about restrictions and things to avoid while I’m getting my treatment.
HA! I NEEDED THAT! ![]()

Who knows how long but I’m doing what I supposed to do and also communicating with them what I think I can do! I don’t want them to go easy because they think I’m sensitive… some people like the small steps with encouragement which is fine. I just want to do my homework and back at it before summer.
Really Great to see you back!
Hope you heal up quickly, and are back on your game.
@ Abdominal muscle. We engage them for nearly everything! Something I never thought about until I had surgery on mine, then I realized just getting out of bed was an Ab move! Haha.
My PT keeps telling me that I’m probably doing more than I should but he lets me go. The recovery protocols are for average people… and let’s be real; average Americans suck.
I’m dying because I want to be normal again. I want to have my strength back. And once I’m released to train fully it’ll take weeks, if not months, to get that back. So I’m not sitting around waiting to be normal again. I’m not even at the starting line to get back to normal yet.
You just have to think about the big picture. If I go slow and listen to everyone now, then I’ll be healthy by _______. If I push it then there’s a chance that I’ll go backwards and when _______ gets here I’ll still be broken and doing things half assed.
I tell myself this every day and then when I’m in the gym I find myself thinking about what I can do. I can’t deadlift but maybe I can do rack pulls… then I tell myself that I’m retarded and to wait.
@anon71262119 thanks Puff I appreciate it especially coming from you! I agree I had no clue how much I work my abs but dang. Even after a good an workout it wasn’t like this lol. Wow surgery must have been rough for that and I hope you have been better ever since that.
@Frank_C YES… average Americans are awful when it comes to being weak and weak minded! You are absolutely correct with your thought process and what you have been telling yourself. I really hope that you get yourself exactly where you want to be and have no setbacks doing so. You seem like you have a lot of knowledge when it comes to fitness and the resources to help with your progress. I honestly get a lot of my support from here because where I’m from most people are completely fine with being that “average American” and whatever makes them happy I guess
I enjoy being a little different!
Holding back for long term health and not ingraining poor technique is the hardest part.
You should do all these routines at once ![]()
@Irishman92 that’s exactly what I was planning on doing
lol! I like saving articles to read and learn a few tips from each… I want to learn all I can.

Hope you heal up soon!

Tbh i prefer brunettes
Me to Duke, me to.
No joke, the hottest girls I’ve ever seen are usually brunettes. On occasion they will be blonde but yeah.
