Pendleton! I used to drink Crown Royal but it lost its luster. Pendleton is aged 10 years compared to 7. I also heard Crown was chemically aging it’s whiskey to keep up with demand. That could be complete BS though ![]()
Bitch, please
@Irishman92 ![]()
BAHAHAHA hilarious yes!! I would like to think I am the hunting side for sure.
This weather is driving me crazy and I’m very much over it! I need some sun and warmth in my life so hopefully that is soon. I’ve been a little sick but am starting to come out of it and getting my energy back
rock on!
…to add to what I posted above I have been doing calisthenics on sick days to the max reps that I possibly can and then I try to knock out three sets. So tonight push-ups, crunches, planks, burpees, and lunges.
Does anyone have thoughts on doing this when your feeling rough? I’d prefer not to pass this back to the gym where I probably picked it up ![]()
When you’re sick your body is using energy to get healthy again. Don’t overdo it causing you to become even more rundown, more sick, or just prolonging your illness longer than need be. Rest is best but light work won’t kill you.
@Excelsior88 hey thank you for stopping by and posting! Your right and it does make sense to take it easy. I mean I am taking it easier then my normal workout but hate to have too many rest days. This is always an issue for me of what to do when the winter sickness kicks in. I hate feeling weak and your right it won’t kill me. I appreciate your thoughts.
I learned a long time ago that it was better to shut it down and rest when I’m sick than to push through. I’d try to go train when I was run down and several things would happen:
- I’d feel like garbage
- My workouts would suck and I’d have to stop before I completed everything or do it all half-assed
- I didn’t recover from the illness as fast as I wanted
After several rounds of this experience I finally accepted the fact that it’s best to take a couple of days off and use all of my body’s resources to fight off the illness. My workouts weren’t good enough to progress from them but I was wasting precious energy. It’s the worst of both worlds–no recovery and no progress. It just made sense to throw in the towel.
If you’ve been sick for a long time but it’s mostly been minor then I think you’ll be alright doing light things. Your body will let you know if it’s too much when things that were once easy result in burning muscles, early fatigue, and shortness of breath (like you’ve been working hard and you’re tired but you just started 10 seconds ago).
I’ll second @Frank_C and @Excelsior88
When sick it’s best to let the body fight the illness.
If it’s a bit of a cold, without fever, light non fatiguing training, could be done.
I have tried training with a fever, and almost every time, at first “hey that was fine”, but then the fever strikes back.
Boo for the profile pic change. Unless I get to call you Turkey now ![]()
@lord_humongous hilarious
as always!
@Irishman92 that’s all I could come up with in that tiny little profile pic spot. I tried to change it to another of me but it ended up being mostly of my chest
thought that might not be a good idea! haha… if you call me Turkey I’ll have to figure out a good one for you.

I’m not even going to respond to this! Except for this lil response right here ![]()
I’m not sure if I want to call you Turkey
is there any reason/story behind the pic?
@Irishman92 That meme is so cute HAHA!! I want to get a better profile pic so maybe people can see my progress too… I’m still a little intimidated by doing that. The current profile picture is off the deer camera and I thought was cool for now. What about you Mr. …where is your picture? Or is that what you look like in a cartoon version
please say no!
@lord_humongous ahh you caught me messing up a post
I am so awful with technology! Social media is not my thing at all.
Yes! Let me just wake up with it and I swear I’ll do my part to maintain it!
=)~
@jamie1888
RIGHT! I PROMISE!
Of course I would have to learn how to cook like you before I could give it my best effort. Oh and I wish my full time job was working out at the gym and sponsorship to pay my living expenses too.
