I am 121-124lbs and 5’6 feet, i’m 17 I want to bulk and I have been bulking for 6 months now, everyone is saying I haven’t changed in the slightest bit, I probably haven’t, my weight hasn’t gone up infact, it’s gone down just a bit.
Measuring tape is your friend. Also getting stronger helps. Smarter people than me have said that bodybuilding is about getting stronger in the 6-12 rep range.
Regardless of all of this fix things with your dad. Being a grown up means making things work with people, even when you think you’re right. You only get one dad. Now go fix it.
Thanks mate ![]()
Confirmed. Where’s professor x when you need him?
@konner05
New plan. EAT! LIFT! SLEEP! But mostly eat. You may have growing yet to do height wise. I grew until I was 21. You look like a concentration camp survivor.
My brother always says that lol, love that joke
I’m gonna start eating what my dad provides me and also do chores for him. The food in college is bad but any food’s better than no food.
Why’s he doing this?
There is absolutely no reason for you to have a food scale. Your dad is right. Food scales are important if you’re trying to diet down/lose fat. You’re not in that position. Hell, I’ve been lifting for 15 years and never used a food scale once. And I’d say I’ve had quite a bit of success. Eat more. A lot more.
I was smaller than you when I started lifting. At 18 years old, I was 5’11, 125 lbs. There were several keys early on in my development. I ate a lot of pasta and rice, plenty of meat and eggs, vegetables, and milk. Plus shakes every day. Everything i could stomach. I had a problem with undereating when I was young, and one of the best things I learned to do for myself was to force-feed myself. Eating past the point of comfort. I would feel sick and shitty sometimes, but it literally expanded my stomach, and eventually it stopped feeling bad.
Don’t weigh another piece of food until you’re 25.
are you weighing your food because you want to make sure you’re eating enough?
At your age/weight/development I would just eat as much as possible. Wouldn’t even really give much thought to what it even is provided there’s some protein in there (not advice I would usually give but in your situation the seefood diet definitely applies).
FWIW, I merged two of Konnor’s diet threads because they’re so related. And because there’s no real reason to start 7 threads in 7 days for what’s really one or two concepts - “what should I eat” and “how should I train.” Carry on.
I cannot go in the gym as I need supervision from my parents because they said “He’s lifting too much heavy weights and we’re concerned about his health”. So now I have cancel my gym membership and go to another one, I might be getting £30 this week from my college for bursary. I want to bulk as i’m 121-124lbs and 5’6 feet and 17 years old. What should I do? Go to cardio? Decrease my calories? Do bodyweight exercises? Had to do it again wrong thread
Hello?
How did you lose 30lbs. in 3 months?
I made a big mistake, I didn’t eat enough protein so I lost a lot of muscle, some water weight and some fat.
You need to get honest if you want any help.
Not enough protein does not equal 30 lbs in 3 months.
I did a lot of cardio (5 days a week, 3 miles) aswell and slashed my calories to 1200 calories

Decrease my calories?[/quote]
Why is your instinct always to reduce calories? This definitely isn’t the first time something happened and your immediate question is “Should I drop calories?” even though it’s been said tons of times that less food is the last thing you need.
Also, I’m not sure I saw it directly mentioned in any of your 4,000 threads, but in your profile you wrote “I’m bulking at 121lbs and 5’6 feet. I was 155lbs then I lost 30lbs in 3 months.” How long ago was that and exactly what was the cause of the weight loss?
EDIT: Just saw Skyzykszyszys comment. And yeah, not eating enough protein doesn’t lead to a 20% reduction in bodyweight.
9 months ago I started to do cardio and slashed my calories the 3 months later I was to 121lbs.
