PB is a general abbreviation for peanut butter. Most people on this site eat natural peanut butter multiple times a day for taste and health reasons, so instead of typing peanut butter…we write PB.
Hope that helps. And yes, greek yogurt, Fage (pronounced --fayeh–) is similar to cottage cheese and much lower in carbs than regular plain yogurt.
Also, to the OP, you dont need to buy friendship, buy generic. It will save you money and seriously it comes from the same cow. Unless you go to some organic store or something.
I know this thread is more recipe oriented, but instead of making a new thread I was wondering what everybody thought of the sodium content in cottage cheese. I believe its 360mg (“15%” daily needs) per 1/2 cup.
I usually eat about a 1/2-1 cup a day. Is this significant at all? I’m not that knowledgeable in the whole sodium thing, but I remember reading that in excess it can be the cause of abdominal fat.
I’m addicted to it and love the shit, do about a kilo a day.
Which is funny because when i first started eating it i didn’t like it at all, and use too look for way’s to make it taste better, here’s hte few i use to use.
Cottage cheese and pineapple chunks
cottage cheese and all natural yohgurt
Grilled chicken, with cottage cheese and salsa ontop (after cooking) and salad
That last one is an awsome meal, tastes like enchilada’s or something.
Cottage cheese is definitely an acquired taste. It used to make me nauseous but now I love it, so stick with it. Someone previously mentioned mixing it with Light and Fit yogurt, which I do–I like the vanilla–I’ll have to try adding those spices too.
However, if it’s the chunks you don’t like, all I can say is hang in there. If you eat enough of these variations and find a taste you like, eventually you’ll adapt to the texture.
Edit: If you eat something crunchy in it, such as nuts or bran buds, you notice the texture less.

or you can get the whipped kind =) it’s only available in the 1% friendship kind though. thats why I started with and worked my way to chunky, after I alrdy liked the taste of the whipped.
