oh man…just tried this: choco syrup, choco protein powder, 8 oz. milk, 8 oz. cottage cheese. It tastes like a milkshake…with a massive amount of cheese in it. Maybe I should’ve added splenda or something…then it would taste like a sugary milkshake with cheese in it.
cottage cheese, natural peanut butter, and raisins. if you are going to FREAK out about he raisins, the cott and pb is good too. stir and enjoy.
I like raisins lol, thanks
With all this talk about cottage cheese mixed with peanut butter, i must try this before bed. If you have the 16oz container of cottage cheese, how much peanut butter? 2 Tablespoons? This could probably mix well with a shake too with some splenda and cocoa.
Have you tried greek yogurt instead? They’ve got pretty similar macro ratios.
i eat it with olive oil and oregano tastes nice. iam afraid to try it in shakes though.
Put some apple sauce on top of it. Canned peaches and other fruit is good too. Sometimes ill mix 1/2 scoop of casein with it. Once you get used to the taste, you’ll be able to stomach it plain.
Usually if i eat it out of the container i will mix a packet or 2 of splenda in it along with some peanuts and dried fruits. With shakes it just blends right in

Can anyone confirm that? I’m having a hard time believing it.
I like the following blend b/c it adds some richness and spicyness to the CC:
1/2 cup CC
1/2 tsp Splenda
1 scoop Metabolic Drive Low-Carb (preferred flavor)
1 container Dannon Light&Fit Yogurt (4g sugar; preferred flavor)
1/8 tsp cinammon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 Tbsp ground flax seed
Added fruit cocktail if desired (or other low GI/GL fruit)

I can most definitely confirm that. Greek style yogurt from trader joes is amazing. I get the 0% one (extremely thick and creamy too), I believe its ~20g protein, 5g carb, 3 sugar per cup.
edit: just noticed that you’re in Sweden, there is an international (I believe) brand of Greek style yogurt called “Fage” which you could probably get. It has very similar macros.
I used to dry heave when I’d watch someone try to eat cc. To get over my phobia, I started to put some on top of a baked potato. The consistencey of the 2 were very similar. From there, I’d mix in a small can of Mandarin oranges with an even smaller amount of cc. Over a short amount of time I was able to add more and more cc. Now I can finally eat it plain.
try this:
1 scoop clumpy casein based whey
.25 cup fat free cream cheese (stuff is awesome btw)
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1 packet of splenda
(Optional: 1T PB/Almond/Walnuts/Whatever EFAs)
Blend on high for 1 minute, stopping and then shaking when it gets “stuck”.
Tastes exactly like cheesecake filling.

OK, I’m trying to add cottage cheese to my diet. I’m not sure if I can stomach it plain. I tried about a half pound the other day and had to hold my breath. Now I understand that some people make shakes with it…but how? Say I have 8 oz. of cottage cheese, some chocolate protein powder, and milk…would 8 oz. of milk be enough to throw in my milkshake machine with the cottage cheese & protein powder? Or would that be disgusting? I’m just curious as to what recipes you guys use.
Also, if I’m looking for an occasional alternative to cottage cheese, what could I use?
Thanks[/quote]
Cottage Cheese is one of the best foods to eat, IMHO. Mix it in with shakes (couple of tablespoons), mix in with tuna and a little mayo, eat it on a tomato slice. Not only does it add protein, but it slows down digestion and any glycemic issues with the other food you’re eating.
Eat the full fat variety. Low fat sounds better but it tastes terrible; you’ll find a reason to avoid it. Better to have the extra fat than miss the CC altogether. Besides, low fat is not natural. Chemicals have to be added in to stabilize the product. Blech!!11
hmmmm this is an interesting thread. The common thread seems to be splenda, I think every recipe suggested using a tsp or 1/2 tsp of it.
I also am getting into cottage cheese. mind over matter, read the ingredients: Whey…i’m cool with. Milk…check. ain’t so bad.
eat with something else so you can alternately go back and forth helps.
If still failing… get a casein protein powder for bedtime

I just made that and i can confirm. its awesome.
only bad thing is it gets stuck on the bottom of the blender very easy. =( I actually added some water and made it an extremely thick shake. it was awesome, thanks man
Pineapples diced up (juice included) mix very well. The grocery stores here also sell this pre-made but it’s not as good as making it fresh.
Alternatively I also use Strawberry Preserves (More Splenda) which mixes well.
Going to definitely try some PB… do you use chunky or creamy?
This is what I do:
I`m from Brasil…
Whats PB?
Thanks!
