Cookies and Gaining Mass - Update

Now I get why so many dudes that don’t know shit about weightlifting and principals get big and muscular eating shit. They simply ate shitty and lost fat by accident. Before coming to this board, I didn’t know what bulking was. I know this dude that was fat and somehow managed to turn muscular and lost a lot of weight getting leaner. He was bulking and cutting and didn’t even know it.

Well I have a surprising update.

I weighed myself yesterday and I’ve lost 5 pounds since I started eating cookies and milk. I’ve gained muscle mass, especially in my shoulders and traps, but lost weight?

And it’s not like I’ve started a new program. I don’t understand my body and am very frustrated.

I’ll correct two typos here…

continue eating 1.5x your weight in grams of protein. Eat some veggies and complex carbs (rice and pasta). Count your calories every day. If you’ve eaten, say, 3000 calories last week and lost weight… eat 3500 calories this week.

This is the super bulk diet:

2x your weight in grams of protein.
3x your weight in grams of carbs.
1x your weight in grams of healthy fats.

train 2x/day.
sleep minimum of eight hours.
consume prohormones or steroids.

I guarantee you will gain weight.

what about almonds? You could get almond butter. Are you allergic to all nuts?

A couple of thoughts:

 1. How have you determined you gained mass? Did you check your BF before and after?
 2. You could have spiked your metabolism enough to burn off fat. When I eat a ton of food all at once I end up losing weight the next morning, but it shows up again about 2 days later.
 3. You may have replaced some of your good protein sources with cookies and milk thinking you were eating enough, thus losing muscle.
 4. Do some searches on milk and you will see that it’s possible the worst thing to eat with your simple carbs. Huge insulin spike combined with fatty and carb loaded cookies= fat not muscle. I suggest saving the milk for breakfast and after your workout. Have your cookies as an afternoon snack.

I can’t believe there has been this much discussion about cookies and bodybuilding…

dont see what the big deal is…i eat a spoonful of crisco every night before bed to bulk up you need fat in your diet right?
I can’t tell if your serious or not, I hope not though. Normally I would assume you were but with some of the advice that people have given on this thread you never know.

Put a teaspoon of Crisco between two cookies.

A dozen of those a day and you will start to put on weight.

I’m allergic to all nuts. Believe me I’d love to chow down on PBJ sandwiches, but it’s not going to happen.

Thanks for your input. I have some concerns though.

First, I would never take steroids and probably will never take prohormones. Yeah, I’d get bigger with them, but the risks aren’t worth it to me. If I were a professional baseball player, then maybe. lol

Second, my body wouldn’t be able to handle training 2x a day. As an ecto, it’s difficult enough for it to handle 3 days a week of intense lifting.

Third, I can handle sleeping 8 hours+ a day.

Fourth, I like the way you’ve outlined how many healthy fats, carbs, and protein I should get. I think that’s very useful and will try to follow that.

 1. Well, I look bigger in the upper body. That’s how I know. I don’t monitor my bf.

 2. Maybe but my weight is consistently 5 pounds lower now.

 3. I take protein powder. I do eat chicken (a lot of El Pollo Loco), and ground beef (mainly McDonalds, but I do make my own sometimes), ground turkey and lamb, sometimes steak (Omaha steaks), and eggs and milk. Is milk not a good protein source? I thought it was.

 4. Hmmmm. I’ve never heard this.

Bro, what’s the deal? McDonald’s hardly counts as ground beef. Cut out that crap and make your own ALL the time and I guarantee your quality of health will rise dramatically.

damn, I can’t believe you lost weight…

…however, that could be water weight, body refuse, or what-have-you. don’t be discouraged.

maybe you should eat more cookies? lol
I’m scared that if I eat more cookies, I’ll lose more weight. lol

padilla I don’t eat a lot of ground beef, maybe once a week, but when I do it’s usually McDonalds. Mostly ground turkey and lamb.

This is a joke.

If it isn’t.

Eeeek.

When I eat cookies, I shit playdough.

But I’m also shagged and fagged real horrorshow.

epitome.

Risks?

You have no idea. You can lift twice a day with a diet like I laid out. You just don’t want to. Eating smart is just about the hardest thing in this game. If you can barely lift three times a week, you’re not eating enough.

How many calories do you consume a day?

Are you insinuating that there are no potential side effects or risks of using steroids?

Yes, steroids have risk in case you didn’t know.

I have NO problem with working out twice a day. I’ve done it. I have a home gym so I can work out pretty much whenever I want to. But it tends to give me a lot of repetitive stress injuries and is hard on my joints.

haha homie WOOLDOG you really do mention cookies…like, with crazy frequency

It’s really, really tough for me to eat a lot-even 2000 calories a day is quite a bit for me–so foods that have a lot of calories are great for me. I’m allergic to nuts, so no peanut butter or almonds for me.

I honestly don’t think it’s possible for me to get fat. I don’t know if my metabolism is superfast or what but I never get fat. It just doesn’t happen It might be an improvement appearancewise if I gained some fat.

Each cookie has about 4 grams of protein.
Go read the post by prof. X in the T-cell alpha forum about glass ceilings. It fits you to a T

Whether you believe you can, or you can’t, your right !!!

Think about it…

oh, and I doubt your metabolism being fast has anything to do with not gaining weight when you eat 2k calories a day. I just ate 2k calories worth of (beef kababos, veggies, potatoe with sour cream and butter and some A1 sauce)… with two ESB beers…
