Competitive BBer on Steroids Goes Berserk and Beats Up GF

This is giving me Ripley rage

Obviously hormones affect mood (if you don’t believe me then wait until your girlfriend is on her period then tell her she’s looking fat and you want to have sex with her sister) but it’s not like steroids’ll take you from a mild-mannered, passive kinda guy to some beserker asshole.

The problem is that, for whatever reason, this lifestyle attracts assholes.

I don’t think it’s too hard a reason to decipher. Being bigger and stronger than other people grants you the ability to feel superior to them and intimidate them. People with a predisposition to being a-holes will be very compelled to that end.

Yes buuuuuuuuut the individuals who became manic (albeit mildly so) showed no symptoms prior to testosterone treatment. I looked at the study in more depth and found what I perceive to be a fatal flaw though. Many of the participants had first degree relatives with major mood disorders, histories of violence or other psychiatric issues, so it’s very possible it was a case of ā€œan already screwed up individual being given anabolic steroids, and anabolic steroids amplify said personality traitsā€. Note I say manic like symptoms, not roid rage, there was zero incidents of violent behaviour during the study from what I can recall, a few other studies have been done giving people high doses of test, the highest being 240mg of methyl testosterone daily, once again in most of these studies a very small minority of people show manic symptoms. AAS likely do alter the function and amount of various neurotransmitters, therefore it makes sense to think that there’d be some type of mood alterations in some individuals, especially those predisposed to mental issues. That being said there’s no proof of the classical ā€œroid rageā€ existing, and quite frankly I don’t believe it exists. Most cases of media cited roid rage stem from other issues such as hard drug use, the individual having previous issues mentally, for instance there was a case report in which a guy (this is kinda graphic but I’m going to put it in anyway) cut off his wife’s arms, he was on steroids, so the case report blamed it on AAS, however he was also bipolar, schizophrenic, on a bunch of psych meds, using hard drugs and binge drinking, in this case… and just about all others… No… It wasn’t steroods, it was the other trillion variables people were too stupid to see because they were worried about the super sweet hot sauce. A wrestler, forgot his name killed his family or something similar, people thought it was due to elevated levels of testosterone in his blood… But he had the brain of an old woman with dementia from being knocked around in the ring so much… Once again, not steroids (although it is hypothesized very high doses may have a neurotoxic effect which in theory could speed up the process of neurodegeneration). In the absence of hard drug use, previous psychiatric or criminal history, I don’t believe there’s ever been a SINGLE 100% verifyable case of anabolic steroids causing an otherwise sane individual to completrly fly off the handle. I could be wrong though.

Overall, my side of the argument is that roid rage is a myth but in some AAS may be able to alter ones mood or bring on symptoms from previously undiagnosed issues, especially in those predisposed to psychiatric problems (similar to weed and psychoactive substances)

Guys it was obviously the steroids. Here’s why:

Inside this poor, super jacked man, was a war. A world war. Four superpowers clashing together in battles of epic proportions.

On one side, the superbly sinister duo of cocaine and methamphetamine. ā€œKill, scratch, rape, murder!ā€, they yelled in his ear.

On the other side, ecstasy was telling him to hug everybody and pet the nearest rug while weed attempted to coax him onto the sofa nearby with a bag of Doritos.

Crushed by the duality of his conscience at the moment, the terrified man was to do nothing.

Nothing, that is, until the tren showed up and tipped the scales.

Just at that moment, the door opened.

The rest is history.

I used to work with a guy that beat up his girlfriend. Similar to this case, although it wasn’t anywhere near as brutal as this. He was let go and the girl didn’t press charges. He was on 3 different steroids that I know of and only drank alcohol occasionally. He was on deca and tren and I can’t remember the third. I remember he was taking some insanely high doses, and he was also a douchebag to begin with that no one really liked. I also know almost a dozen more guys personally whom I worked with for years who took or take steroids still and have never beat a woman up (although I’ve seen them very angrily break shit and fight other men on a few occasions). Anabolics are going to make you have more aggressive tendencies, plain and simple as they alter your hormones. But to say rage is a universal side effect for everyone isn’t necessarily a fact or a myth. In my opinion, I think it really varies by person as we all have different chemical balances and imbalances. Of all the guys I’ve seen on anabolics I can say that there’s definitely some merit to ā€˜roid rage’, but to say it’s the main cause or even one of the minor causes for what this retard did to his girlfriend because he’s an emotionally insecure pussy is just as retarded as he is. I’ve also encountered and fought with people who were on cocaine and have tried cocaine myself once. I think cocaine should have the label of ā€˜rage’ attached to it long before anyone even thinks about having the label ā€˜rage’ associated with steroids.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH I can’t stop thinking about this now, one of those grapefruit spoons

Anabolic steroids affect the function and amount of certain neurotransmitters, so do hard drugs… Whether there’s a synergistic effect, no one knows.

WHAT. Link? someone actually did a STUDY at that level of steroid use? That seems pretty irresponsible. Was it like 40 years ago or something?

yes, of course. that wasn’t the topic at hand. you’re kind of moving away from the issue at this point.

I’ve talked about, in many threads, how much I like dbol, for instance. it’s a feel good drug. a mild euphoria comes with it. halo felt great too. I would NEVER suggest that steroids don’t alter mood. They change your hormonal profile, so of course that’s the case.

The issue from the beginning has been about what the typical person considers to be ā€˜roid rage’, which, to my mind, is a violent outburst, one which would not occur in the absence of steroid use. That is something I do not believe has any basis in reality. I’m not really interested in getting into the nuance of mood shifts with steroids. If all we’re talking about is a shift from normal to slight mania, or something like that, meh. not interesting.

Wasn’t my intention to move away from the issue, but what issue are we talking about? It’s roid rage correct?

No, I don’t think this exists, certain AAS may be able to amplify traits of aggression, however these typically carry over into the gym and lifting weights, not outbursts. By defining roid rage as violent outbursts caused by AAS, no I don’t think it exists, however I’m sure out of the millions of people who have taken AAS a single case might have occured in an individual taking exorbitant doses, however I don’t believe the version of ā€œroid rageā€ you’re talking about exists. I mean, you’ve taken halotestin before, care to explain how that effects your performance in the gym (I’m legitimately curious), believe it or not halo is currently approved as a drug for TRT in the us, daily dose from 5-20mg/day

Haha, no man it was actually in the 90s, I’ll see if I can find it, the 240mg/day was only given for like 3 days though. Study lasted only 2 weeks, tis a shit study https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/article-abstract/406451

Here’s a study with high doses though Evaluation of anabolic steroid induced renal damage with sonography in bodybuilders - PubMed , not related to mood but I reckon it’s the highest dose used in any study so far… Not sure how they could’ve gotten it through the ethics comittee, they’re a tough bunch to please, and boldenone isn’t even available in human grade form anymore.

In neither study was I able to access the full paper, although I didn’t look around for very long

This might just be me being unknowledgeable/wrong/misinformed but I recall there being some ADHD drug that was essentially methamphetamine which leads me to ponder what it is about smoking the chemical as opposed to taking it orally that makes it so much ā€œworseā€.

Most ADHD medication is an amphetamine, which is missing the ā€œmethā€ portion of the chemical compound. I’m no chemist so I can’t really speak to it more intelligently without research.

Reasons for use can be one difference. A medical requirement combined with the actual neurological condition it is treating is an entirely different frame than recreational/abuse type use. Also a controlled measured dose taken orally is an entirely different animal than blast after blast smoking to get high. Not sure about the actual composition either, but even one atom on the molecular chain can make the difference between medicine and street drug, like the difference between ephedra and crystal.

The difference between the person seeking a medical solution and the person seeking blast off can’t be understated.

Amphetamine is your generic Adderall.

Put the Methyl group on it and your basically supercharging it and making it last longer.

People who ā€œslamā€ or inject meth, are at the pinnacle of abuse.

Interestingly, when an eye is surgically removed (enucleation is the formal term for the procedure), the instrument used to do so is called a ā€˜spoon.’

enucleation%20spoon

Likewise, if we excise the cornea and scoop out all of the intraocular contents (a procedure known as an evisceration), that instrument is also called a spoon.

Everyone needs to hire @eyedentist as a diet consultant. Whenever you’re hungry he’ll just text your gorey surgical pictures of eyeballs. Bam. Not hungry anymore.

He’s certainly making me re-think my 50% protein diet. I may opt for naught but refined carbs now.

Stay away from those chocolates that are firm on the outside but gooey on the inside and you’ll be fine.
