The video is kind of long but they are calling it Roid Rage. Apparently the guy was geared up and went ape shit on his girlfriend and beat the crap out of her
Or the fact the Asshole might have been a violent prick to begin with. I guess just a run of the mill domestic violence case is too boring for the news media gotta spice it up.
" Investigators that responded to the home after the attack were reported to have found cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine, ecstasy and a substance that contains human growth hormone." Discounting the marijuana, he was on 3 outrageously powerful narcotic stimulants, and theyāre pouncing on the steroids?
Iām natty elitist as fuck, but I definitely support an athleteās decision to responsibly use PEDs.
Letās not play games here. The steroids were definitely a factor. Not saying the cocaine, meth, and ectasy werenāt, and Iām sure he already had abusive and dangerous personality traits, especially given this combination.
And Iād rather get into a fight with somebody not on steroids than with somebody on steroids any day. Iāve rolled and sparred with kids who were on PEDs and the difference is ridiculous, especially when they know what theyāre doing.
Itās common knowledge that roid rage is a side effect with steroids. And while responsible steroid users probably donāt experience this, Iām sure a guy taking huge doses along with cocaine and meth probably does.
Yes. But you said that the steroids were definitely a factor but I easily found one study with a 600mg dose where steroids did not cause 'roid rage. My issue is with you saying that steroids were definitely a factor when you know nothing of the sort.
I think what you meant to say was ābro knowledgeā. Roid rage is a myth promulgated by the media and anti-steroid bandwagoners, to the extent it has become an excuse for violent behavior.
Bottom line: if youāre an asshole, it makes you a bigger asshole. If youāre a (fairly) normal guy, it will probably increase aggression to some degree but a massive psychological change? No evidence.
The other illicit drugs on scene would have had a bigger impact than whatever AAS he was taking. Meth heads are known to be unstable and violent, not to mention the coke. Canāt imagine that cocktail together.
We have plenty of people on these forums who are taking HIGH doses of all sorts of steroids, and I donāt think any of them have ever done anything like this.
No, this is like taking bloodwork on the body of somebody who crashed a car with a BAC 4x the legal limit, finding trace amounts of marijuana, and blaming the accident on weed. Nobodyās playing games here, mixing coke, X, and meth is more than enough to make you scoop your eyes out with a spoon, and I genuinely donāt think steroids had any effect on anything here, especially not from āroid rageā, unless thereās a synergistic effect with narcotics that I donāt know about.
Roid rage is a myth. I highly doubt that taking steroids would cause a 180 flip in your personality. Could it amplify pre-existing anger and other repressed emotions if you take an absurdly high dose? Yeah, but so can any drug if you take enough of it.
Even people who have never touched drugs a day in their life can have some fucked up brain chemistry issues or psychological trauma that causes them to be prone to outbursts of anger or bouts of depression. Dude clearly abuses some bad shit, which tells me (along with the fact that he went ape shit on his girlfriend) he has some issues that were most definitely there before the steroids started.
The media and the government love to blow this stuff out of proportion. Human bodies can handle just about any drug in moderation as far as I know, which includes steroids. It really bothers me that the general public has assumed this view of āsteroids are badā because some dude with serious mental health conditions decided to abuse steroids. Bad people do bad things. I donāt know. Like I said, it bothers me. I wish people would do a little more research. Speaking of that, a majority of the people who see this headline wonāt even read the article, but itāll reinforce their bias against steroids. Itās sad.
I think weāre missing the part about the guy being a ābodybulderā. Itās common knowledge that bodybuilders are dumb and beat up their girlfriends all the time. People always blame the roids. Do you see non-bodybuilders on roids beating up their girlfriends? I think there should be a ban on bodybuilding.
See? 90lb teenage girls on 30mg of anadrol a day for 6 years arenāt beating up their boyfriends whereas @yogi, a 200lb bodybuilder, goes batshit on 50mg a day for less than a week.
OK. Iāve known lots of people that have used steroids with nary a peep of anger and no violence.
On the other hand, I also know of one real psychopath that also used steroids and lots of coke. Aside from doing virtually the same thing to his girlfriend he also has murdered a number of people and now is doing life for aggravated murder.
But he was a psychopath long before ever touching steroids.
And meth? Off the charts insanity from that shit. Unless youāve seen it in person, you have no idea of how completely delusional and paranoid a few days or weeks of getting bent on that crap will get a person. Once thats in play there are no limits.
