Somebody asked me the other day, “Why don’t you compete, it is obviously something you love (refering to bodybuilding).” I thought to myself, “could I?” What does it take to break into the competive lifting or bodybuiding ring. What does it take to do it naturally, I can not fail a drug test. I get tested randomly. What kind of stats should you have? I am a big, low BF, T-man and was wondering what some of us would need to have to compete in lifting contest or bodybuilding shows. What about modeling? I was asked once by a guy on the street to do a local calendar in Hawaii once, but I nevered pursued it. Anyone support their Mag-10 diet by doing some side mag pics? Reference links would help.
Ive been asked to model when i was smaller. Now that ive gotten bigger no one asks. When i was 220 with about 8%bf i got asked quite often. Now im 245 with 10. not exactly model material. Im cheerleading now so dieting down into contest shape is out of the question. but i have thought about competing in powerlifting
Yeah. I didn’t pursue the calendar thing because I just got the image of a dark dirty basement in my head… but I was smaller then, about 3 years ago. Only about 205. Now, as in today, I am 5’11" about 228, at about 10 percent B/F. What kind of lifts at what weight do you need to be able to place in powerlifting? I have never seen a bodybuilding show or powerlifting match. I am self motivated and edumacated.
It all depends on what competitions, federations you go to, and who shows up at meets on what you will place. I wouldn’t be too concerned if you don’t do well at your first couple meets, after you get a routine down things will go better. I know a lot of guys have problems with the rules of the sport, but again after awhile you learn. As I always say, just go compete and don’t worry about it, everyone will help you out. By the way, don’t do the modeling thing, I think that is pretty wussy myself (no offense to models, but cmon.)
Yeah, I do agree that modeling sounds a bit “wussy.” But, it seems like it would be a good way to keep the protein on the table. A supplemental income for a supplemental diet - WOW I thought that about all by myself!
Modeling does sound wussy, but would probably help with the cash flow. Now starring in porno films would be a good cash hog. No one could make fun of you for that. Seriously though, I would think you need to investigate these companies or whoever you will work for so you don’t go and get clubed over the head and end up being a gimp.
I don’t know, but I’m changing my name to go along with this thread!
… I just thought it was necessary… Big D OUT…
