The Challenge
Do a challenging set of overhead presses, then use the same weight and do twice as many front squats. So if you do 10 presses, you’d do 20 front squats.
Here’s Ben Bruno demonstrating:

I wish I’d see these right as they get posted!
For me, anything i can press for X reps is easy to front squat for 2x reps.
I have a crappy press and a relatively decent front squat.
Though to be fair, 20 FS at any weight is hard, so thats probably the rep range to get the most outta this.
But i still haven’t claimed my prize from the sloppy pushup challenge, and don’t have the opportunity to give this one a fair shake right now either.
Yeah I’m at work and could possibly get something done in the garage tonight.
I hope you beat me to it.
My 1rm press at 135lb would make for a pretty fast and disappointing video. Could do 105 probably get 8-10 and then the squats would be not-so-bad…
As expected the front squats sucked about 12.68x more than the presses.
I am doing Dan Johns Easy Strength right now, so I didnt want to go crazy, especially on the presses as that is one of my “easy” moves so I didnt want to go to failure or anywhere near it… but even with that the Front Squats sucked haha
The Axel subtracts 20 pounds (but then the camera adds 10lbs…) so it was “95” pounds but really 75 pounds for the set.
