Hey… remember me? My gf went away to college and I was inquiring as to whether I could transfer to it or not. Well we’re still together. She came home today and we are definately as happy as we could ever be. I hope it will always be like this. Just lettin ya guys know how its goin’…
Congrats Steve. I read the first post and I feel for ya. I hope everything works out. Just try to remember that if it doesn’t work out, it wasn’t meant to be. Corny, I know, but true.
I work with these 2 girls who are trying the long-ddist. thing & they’re making it work. I’m in Victoria BC & one of their boyfriends was working in Alaska somewhere & the other was working in Calgary. Don’t listen to anybody who says it can’t be done.
Cool Steve. I’m glad things totally worked out for you. Hope it lasts.
I read the original post too. I have one piece of advice for you. Don’t listen to anyone’s advice, just listen to your heart. Chase her to the ends of the earth, if and only if, that is what you feel you should do in your heart. Don’t give up, if you feel that it is the right thing to do, to try to make it work than by all means do it. You owe it to yourself to do so. Because if you don’t at least try you’ll always wonder what might have been. At least if you try and try and fail you’ll know you did all you could and it simply wasn’t meant to be. True love will always find a way. Remember the saying “If you love something set it free. If it comes back to you it is yours. If it doesn’t it never was.” Good luck and I hope it all works out.
Steve,
Great point. I was going to include the “If you love something set it free…” quote, but I was already feeling a little heavy on cliches. Cliche or not Steve F, Steve is wise and probably gives you his advice based on experience, listen to him. “The force is strong in that one”-Stiffler. (Thought I’d lighten it up for us all.)
Hey thanks for the replies. She’s going back right now, or pretty soon. I think if things go like they do all year the way they did this past 2 weeks, we can do this. She came back on Friday, and didn’t tell me she was comin’ till she was standing in my living room.
We had the BEST weekend ever.
Steve, I read your posting too. Am really pleased for you, am tired of people saying long distance cant work - for me it was a great thing. My girlfriend went to university, I have no car so am forced to go 2/3rds of the country up to see her vai train. Man it can be hard, but if can make time for each other, call email, etc - it wont be so bad, and it will leave you both a bit of free time to do your own things without guilt. Good luck buddy, and the time you have on weekends etc will rock. as you have already found out. 'aaaaaight. ;-)>
Hey steve…congrats so far buddy…I just started the same situation as you…I’ve been in school for a week now…g/f left sunday morn for her school…Keep it going buddy…you are motivation that it can work…cheers…Mike
